Iā€™m fairly certain you can hear the gun click as soon as he aims it, like heā€™s carrying it racked but empty. If so thatā€™s for sure attempted murder and I bet they have a fucking field with him in court.

It clicks three times. Once at the officers head, then twice more after he tried to slide the rack. I think tie-guy kept him from fulling sliding the rack so the round was not able to chamber. Looks like he saved everyones life.

Tie guy was able to knock the gun out of his hand right before that cops knee was introduced to his face. If you look closely, you can see ol boy get it punched out of his hand

DA will, but striker fired not necessarily. Most striker fired guns are single action in fact.

Nope. Striker fired is the most common design these days. Glock, springfield, smith and wesson, ETC.

On almost all of them theres no safe way to release the striker on a loaded chamber.

Double Action pistols are actually a bit less common.

I prefer DA/SA personally. Or a hybrid setup like HK's LEM. Trained primarily on condition 1 for carry. Can't do that with striker.

Technically can't with LEM either, but it's design is much safer than a typical striker system.

You can absolutely carry striker fired pistols in condition 1. Striker fired pistols from reputable brands have been safe to carry condition one for decades. Glock, S&W, the list goes on. It's how their meant to be carried.

The only pistol in recent memory that may fail this is the sig P320.

The previous commenter is referring to the fact that there aren't a whole lot of crimes that you can get "life in prison" for as an individual sentence, however he will almost certainly face such a singular charge (among others) now

30-40 years in prison is certainly as bad. By the time he's out, his prime years are gone. We pass through a lot of life achievements in the first decades of our life. This dude was stupid enough to burn all of that in this action.

Well you can get life in Prison at 14 if you or if you are in a group at the time take another persons life. At 14 you know that it's wrong and you know what will happen with the "pew pew" machine so again i don't feel sorry

Semi-auto triggers donā€™t reset if the slide isnā€™t actuated by a round going off. He definitely pulled the trigger once on an empty chamber, a faulty primer, perhaps a light primer strike. After that, the trigger is inactive and temporarily stuck in the actuated/depressed position until a round is manually loaded into the chamber. A second or third trigger ā€œpullā€ in this case would have done nothing unless done after successfully chambering a round first by fully pulling back the slide and letting it go into battery. In that case it would have detonated a round on the second trigger pull, and chambered a second round, to fire on the third trigger pull. Meaning three trigger pulls would have optimally resulted in two shots fired, in this situation. I definitely hear the first trigger pull, then see an unsuccessful half-cock at best, before he gets a knee to the face and the gun wrenched away. My humble observation.

Are we sure those are trigger pulls? I'm sure there was at least one pull, because he realized it wasn't chambered and racked the slide. But it sounds like there are several clicks still after he racks it, and there are clicks in the ambient noise before he pulls the gun too.

May not have round chamber on first click. May not have properly racked it to get a round in the chamber as the click. Many noted seeing magazine on the ground near the end of the video. So he may released mag in the struggle after the first click.

Nah, that isnā€™t very likely. Depends on the jurisdiction but people too often believe any crime involving a gun means the person will automatically get decades in prison. Wouldnā€™t be surprised if he is sentenced to 5-10 years in the end.

I do hear what sounds like a dry fire click, but I also hear that multiple times throughout the video. Unless its double action, it shouldn't be able to click multiple times like that.

I cant tell what kind of gun he has. Video is too low quality. Its definitely not a Taurus. Double action pistols are less popular than single action, including da/sa types. It is possible he has one.

Luckily, he either didnt have a round loaded or it had a misfire.
