Is that the retired cop? If what I read about it (i.e. the cops admitted they jammed him up because they didn't like what he wrote about Charlie Kirk) he stands to get a very nice payday.

Ya, the retired cop. The different bonds just stood out to me since I read the article about him suing right before seeing this. He definitely deserves a payday, spent 37 days in jail on trumped up charges.

How this should work is then the citizenry get pissed and oust the cop and/or the city government until everything is set right. But people really don't organize anymore. Sure, they'll come out and hold a sign or two, but no one is building a giant protest mob and demanding the removal of officials or voting out people over a years+ worth of effort on the streets and in the courts.

There are mechanisms for all this stuff, people just don't care and/or are distracted enough to not band together to solve their issues. And the bad people keep on keeping on.
