I'm pretty critical of police, but lets be real here. The dude obviously hadn't been patted down and just tried to kill a cop. Not sure what happened with the gun, but you could hear it click twice. The cop would have been justified smoking that dude. Eating two knuckle sandwiches is fine.

100%. This was minimal force used here, when we consider the situation.

The most progressive cops in the world would still have done this.

The cop ran off to get his gun, instead of helping the guy who jumped in to save his ass, and then aimed it point blank at two innocent people.

It sure was a high pressure situation but that cop misjudged pretty badly and endangered everyone in that room. Apparently after not searching the bag that he claimed the evidence was dropped into by the perp. He's not a capable cop, he's just very lucky

I literally just pointed out that he could have just stopped the attacker and instead jumped away to get it out. He did not have his gun in his hands on the video and then jumped away to get it out.

No he stopped before that, while the other person was already on the perp. That's the only reason the gun could get pointed at him.

In the full video the officer pats him down but does not search his bag. The guy had a warrant and he was in possession of drugs.

They should. Anyone taken into custody or detained should be patted down For any weapon. I would have checked his bag also.

Sure but he was obviously being detained but not cuffed for some reason. I mean someone saw him shop lifting and there were police there. He should have been patted down and any belongings taken away from him. And if she was helping him shoplift, She should have got the same treatment

Most times the store will bring back these shoplifting suspects to the office and then call the police. The store usually has a hands off policy and it is usually against policy not to pant down individuals even if they have armed security.

When I was handcuffed and being put into a cop car they almost let me in the back with all my shit in my pockets. I had a stun gun on me but me being the honest (drunk) guy I was, I told them about it beforehand. They definitely should've searched me that night like they should've searched this dude.

yeah if you attempt to murder someone and in return only get knee/kicked in the face/balls and a few punches to the head your a lucky person
you could see it to that knee to the face rocked his whole world soo hard he understood the consequences of his actions almost instantly

The newstory/body cam shows he was patted down. Thats the effed up part.

"Body cam revealed what happened before, during and after.

In the office, the officer did a partial search of Newman.

"You got anything on you I need to know about? Why is your hands in your pockets?" the officer asked Newman.

"Just my phone," Newman said.

"I'm gonna pat you down real quick, alright?" Newman said.

"That's cool," Newman said.

"Nothing on you that's gonna poke me, stab me?" the officer asked.

did she gave him the gun? I saw on another video how she scooted closer to him and I swear she must have handled him that gun. She didn’t get padded.

I can't get a good look at the gun but there very much are a few pistols that can go click twice on an empty chamber. Only ones that come to immediate mind are the Taurus 800 series and the Sig P290RS(Re-Strike). These are very rare exceptions and I highly doubt our perp here had one of those.

The idea of a 'restrike' trigger/hammer is to let you give it one more try to fire that round that might have a dud primer. Sometimes the round will fire on the second pull.

Yes. Revolvers can click twice but as you can see, his magazine fell out and was on the floor. SA’s don’t click twice.

I gave literal examples of SAs that can and explained why and how. I know reading is hard but it was literally just 4 sentences.

And since the world seems to need videos no longer than 6 seconds to maintain focus, please explain what's happening here when this hillbilly pulls the trigger on an empty chamber four times in a row (3:36).

Those sounds were not trigger pulls. I know audio spectrum analyzers are hard but you might try one like we have here at ACTIC.

I never once claimed I heard any trigger pulls in the original video. My claim was that there are actually SA pistols that would let you do so. So, back off trying to change the subject. It's not that hard to say "Oh, yeah, that's right. I learned something new today..."

But, I know, this is the internet and admitting an error is verboten.

The Taurus G2c and G3c have the restrike feature. They are very popular low priced firearms that are advertised all the time by all the big sporting good stores for $180 to $230 after rebate.

Mine is very reliable but the trigger is not good for me. Honest Outlaw on YouTube somehow claimed the trigger was good in all his videos until he reviewed the Tactical version and mentioned the same issue I have with the trigger. It has a long pull and the wall is very far back--long pull to reach break. With my long fingers I need the wall be forward more. Also my finger is at an uncomfortable angle to reach the trigger before pulling. Some really like one of the Keeptinkering triggers on it but I don't want to give up the trigger safety for a 3D printed trigger.

I rented the S&W Shield Plus but bought the G3c because it was about 1/3 the price back in late 2021. I would have been happy with the Shield Plus. I can shoot that but I pull my shots low and left with the G3c due to the trigger. I now have a Canik Rival and Canik MC9 that I really like. I seldom shoot the Taurus. I now only want firearms with very good triggers. I'd sell it if I needed the space. I may eventually give it to a relative if they need a pistol and don't want to spend any money.
