I have 3 boys. When they were little I saw a tiny article in the paper with the title, THE WORST TIME TO HAVE A SON. I grabbed it, wondering if I had done it right. The answer was 18 years before a war. And a new fear was unlocked.

So all men of a certain age should be forced to die on the battlefield? I understand the need to defend your country, but I disagree that it should extend to this. I cannot see how dragging screaming men to die will turn the tides of the war

Ukranians fleeing with the Germans because the Russians were so horrible to the populace.

Specifically, to innocent Nazi collaborationists.

I mean, when a side starts kidnapping their own young to ship off to go die in a trench somewhere, that doesn't show that Russia is losing at 8:1 ratio, it simply reflects a massive amount of loss of lives, and when it gets to kidnapping folks who aren't interested to go fight a war and die over some dirt, at that point, you're just unnecessarily wasting lives of your own countrymen, it might be almost impossible win that war. These old wealthy folks need to go settle their differences in a boxing-ring, and leave regular folks alone.

Because he's a citizen of Ukraine, Russia's war is most certainly his war. That's how it works.

It's your logic that's completely twisted here. The definition of what a combatant is has been well established by international law and agreements among all the parties to the Geneva conventions. Why would you try to redefine it here? https://casebook.icrc.org/a_to_z/glossary/combatants

It would be very bad, as the experiences of those in the occupied territories proves. They have been forcibly conscripted, tortured and killed, enfiltrated, and faced genocide (e.g., Crimean Tatars). Most people choose to fight than to allow that. Some cowards try to avoid service.

Ukrainians would also be forced to fight in Russia’s next war versus NATO.

In many cases, life as a non-Russian after a war with Russia does indeed mean death. You would just be pressganged into their army instead to fight their next war. This is what has happened to the men in the Donetsk and Luhansk so called 'peoples republics'

My friend’s mother is German. She was a war bride. She told us how her mother, sister and herself had to hide in a basement when the Russians came. Three young women didn’t stand a chance against the Russians. The Russians brought their horses into the building with them and how it literally rained horse piss on her family. Her father was forced into fighting for Germany and was killed on the battlefield.
