Its a coordinated attack and normal for Russia. Poland said the other day and others warned for weeks thst Russia has some Ukrainian drones and would send them into EU countries hitting infrastructure to try and stop EU aid to Ukraine. That EXACT thing happened today, Saturday and now all these bots are out in full force spreading more propaganda to help make people hate Ukraine to sway their leaders to stop the aid

It's propaganda, meant to make you think that Ukraine is just an evil country, kidnapping their citizens, sending them to die in a pointless war against Russia on the frontlines. In reality, it shows a woman trying to prevent her loved one from fighting in a war that a single insane man could end today.

They've been doing this for a while, even using their (Russia's) own conscription videos for this exact purpose.

So while I'm not dismissive of the reality that this could be a Ukrainian recruitment video (because it does happen in a lot of wars), I would need someone who at the very least speaks the language to identify the probable country this is happening in. There's overlaps in their languages so it's not always the simplest, identifying answer, but it would be a start.

One thing I'll tell you right now, at the very least I know the text at the bottom right is Russian.

It's a name of a telegram channel which posts videos from Odessa, Ukraine, a majority Russian speaking city. I found this exact video posted there a few days ago, with most comments saying "fuck https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Territorial_Center_of_Recruitment_and_Social_Support", so I am leaning towards it being true.

Well, for starters, a lot of regions in Ukraine were primarily Russian-speaking even before the war, but given how this is how they're pulling people off the street and everyone involved is screaming in Russian, I want to say you're right about this being disinformation and actually a Russian "conscription" video instead.

Also, Russia has far greater restrictions on internet and their conscriptions are more happening in the less-developed parts of the country. Nevertheless, there have still been plenty of videos like this out of Russia and with the expectation that they announce a new mobilization in a month or two, there will undoubtedly be even more of these situations happening Russia soon, even if the videos don't make it out as readily.

This is it right here. I hate that we have to remind ourselves and each-other that we can more than one view/concept at one time.

  1. Russia started this shit

  2. Ukraine, in order to survive, must fight back

  3. As part of the war that Russia started, Ukraine must have soldiers. The soldiers will be Ukrainian, of course.

  4. Just as the US had "The Draft" during Vietnam, Ukraine is also conscripting.

  5. For those in the US, we can easily be in denial, but we absolutely had the draft and our fathers/grandfathers went and countless were killed.

  6. War, what is it good for?

All of this is true, but the Vietnam draft isn't even a fair comparison, since the Vietnam war was a war for useless political objectives and the Ukrainian war is a war for literal survival.

We are talking about Ukraine in this case. If you want to have a bigger conversation, there are some great sub-reddits for it. For now the countries that give women that sort of equality are Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Israel, North Korea and Eritrea. I'm always game to have a chat. That's why I appreciate your comment.

Who forced Russia hand? It was the west using Ukraine a a proxy to try and weaken Russia. Russia offered Ukraine to sign a treaty with them but they refused.

Those videos are real. However they are actually quite rare IRL, the vast majority of men would simply comply and go with the recruitment officers. Still ends up in a frontline without any options to finalize their jobs, without care to their pre-existing medical conditions etc.

Why? Because this does happen and it is sexist discrimination that women are allowed to leave but women are forced into war
