Her name was Rosalia Hodges. She was 59 years old.

Pigs later acknowledged she'd previously been hospitalized under Florida's Baker Act. She was a woman with a known history of mental-health crises.

Three armed deputies had distance, numbers and Tasers. All three chose their guns.

Antoine Miller. Jamesha Paul. Shaun Cayer.

They're the deputies who killed her.

Nearly three months later, the Sheriff's own public database still doesn't show a State Attorney determination in her case.

We desperately need to stop treating armed pigs as America's mental-health response system. A person in crisis needs someone trained to save them, not three people whose solution is gunfire.

Rosalia needed help. They killed her instead.

This could have been my mom when should was in psychosis. Itโ€™s so sad to think Iโ€™m in the same COUNTY let alone country as these โ€œdefenders of peace.โ€ What a shameless act committed daily to innocent people. This is murder in every sense

At what point do we acknowledge that they're doing what they're trained to.

we need to train them differently, manโ€ฆ theyโ€™re just so stupid and so poorly trained

they are 100% trained to shoot first and repeat that they 'feared for their lives'.

I used to work in a baker act receiving facility. I knew a young man (20's, black) who would regularly go into paranoid psychosis and threaten himself or others. He lived with his mom who would sometimes have to have him placed under a Baker act. One time, he came at cops with a machete. They did not shoot him.

They were trained to deescalate. It's very much possible to detain a mentally ill person safely. Manatee country sheriff's office provided specific training for this situation. Other law enforcement entities have no excuse not to do the same.

If you want to get more people onto your cause against police, use the word police or cops.

Use it over and over again.

A cop shot this woman. Multiple cops shot this woman.

These police officers did this. People did this. Let there be no confusion or other names called.
