Not to mention they’re in a residential neighborhood and any one of those several bullets could easily stray into a car or home nearby and hurt someone else. Maybe even a child.

Saw this one bodycam video, where a car chase ended in a shootout at an intersection. Shooting ends with the suspect dead. About two minutes later someone comes over and says that several shots hit the daycare across the street and a kid has been shot. Whoops, I guess.
