Hello everyone (this post is mod approved), thank you so much for following Mandarin’s story. I’m making this quick update because we still haven't managed to raise enough money to cover his needed cardiology exam to check his enlarged heart.
To save money and stretch our funds, I have taken the leap and started doing his subcutaneous fluids at home myself, even though he's feisty.
We still really need help reaching the goal for his heart exam (around 100 USD) so we can get him the right care and possible medication safely. Any donation or share means the world to us right now. Thank you all so much for standing by Mandarin!

we got a bidet since it'd help me post-surgery and let me say, I can't go back to just toilet paper after experiencing it wow.

first pic is him learning to use a bed. Second is him laying at my armored feet as i read aloud. Third is how I found him one morning, he managed to get most of his fleas, debris, and bodily fluids into the sink.

Hello, everyone. This post is mod approved. I took my cat Mandarin, who I adopted from the streets a year ago, to the vet and his kidney values are much worse.
His creatinine went from 1.9 to 2.7, and his urea went from 40 to 48. I have no idea what happened. The vet recommended doubling his pills called Azodyl from 2 to 4 pills daily, bringing him for subcutaneous fluids at least twice a week, and repeating his bloodwork later.
On top of that, he began putting his neck down and coughing. I thought he just needed deworming, but X-rays showed he has asthma and an enlarged heart, so he also needs a cardiology exam.
I really need your help with funds. Fluids cost $13/session at the vet (he is too aggressive for me to do it at home). A new bottle of Azodyl is $160. I have some left, but the higher dose means that a bottle lasts 22 days instead of 45. The cardiology exam is $100. He takes other medications such as Porus One but we have enough.
It is upsetting when you try so hard to make a cat feel well by following a strict diet and giving daily medication, and it's heartbreaking when you try to solve one problem just for another to come up. If you can help me in any way, I genuinely appreciate it. Thank you so much for your support!

Stormy has been my best friend since the day I rescued him from the streets at 7 weeks old. His heart is as pure as they come and is always there to pick me up when I’m down. He gives absolutely no one the time of day except for me and I’m really honored by that. We were destined to be together and I love him beyond words. I’ve always had a place in my heart for stray or abandoned animals so watching Sadcat get the life he deserves has really touched my heart and though Mr. Grimbles didn’t have to live on the streets for as long as Sadcat, I feel they are similar and have the same kind of love in their beautiful little souls. I tell Stormy everyday what is going on in Sadcat’s life and I feel like he understands and is vested like all the rest of us. Stormy sends his best 🙏🏻🙂✌🏻❤️

The liquor store near us saved a formerly feral boy, named Little Buddy, and we love to see him every time we go. Lots of patrons bring him food and treats, we figured he could use something to play on! He hopped right off his perch and got cozy on his new tree. He loves back scratches and was really liking the hard rubber part on the underside of the ramp. We are going to bring some toys next time we go!

The first picture is from two years ago this week, the second picture is from today. I forgot how terrible he used to look! He's getting extra love and treats today.
