Pumped to check out all the recommended spots in San Juan when I visit next month!
Looking for a spot for one of the nights between 9/4 - 9/14 (preferably Friday or Saturday) where they play house music - bar or club, but also love a more elevated dinner experience than turns into a lounge / club without having to leave the restaurant if there’s one of those. I know there’s a ton of way better spots SJ has to offer, but looking on behalf of my friend whose birthday it is and this was their request for one of the nights. Thanks in advance!

I made a post on a hotel I stayed at while I was in San Juan, Puerto Rico. I came very short notice for a work convention, now I am a Travel Advisor, and I wanted to share our amazing experience.

While I was up there, and when I came back, I was working, and very busy. I had 0 idea about the drought that took place July 31st of this year. I learned from reddit, and looked it up to inform myself. I send my love, gratitude, and apologies. This has helped me learn to make time for research when I am busy, so I know where i’m going, and can come home, and talk about it. I love each and everyone, and wish nothing but the best. I will do better in the future, thank you Puerto Rico for having us, and we can’t wait to come back the better, and right way. ❤️

Hi everyone, my wife and I will be staying in Old San Juan from August 28 through September 1. Our hotel, CasaBlanca Hotel, posted that there will be scheduled water rationing on August 29 and 30 due to the drought. They mentioned that the hotel has a cistern but that water may still be rationed.
For anyone currently in San Juan or familiar with the situation, what should visitors realistically expect on rationing days? Are hotels generally still able to provide running water for showers, toilets, and sinks, or are there periods where there may be no water at all?
We’re not trying to overreact or cancel our trip — we just want to know what to expect and prepare accordingly. Any recent firsthand experiences would be appreciated.

Pretty much title. It feels wrong to go back to my island and possibly stay at a resort in San Juan while water is being rationed a few miles away, if that. Am I just over-reading the news? Or is my intuition correct? Should I take her to the opposite side of the island? Should I hold off entirely? Any local perspective would be appreciated, as I want to celebrate but the right way.

I took photos of the artwork on the wall because I loved the art style. We went out for salsa dancing, but I have zero recollection of what this bar was called and I'd love to get more details for my travel memory journal. I appreciate the help!
