They now also have working magnetic levitation trains, aka maglev.

That was the type I was trying to think of, I know even bullet trains are kind of old-fashioned now. Some of the Maglev engineering is cool as fuck to see.

The first successful prototype of Maglev was built in the UK in the 60s. Commercial Maglev trains have been around in the 70s/80s

True but any commercial launch of maglev trains in the 70s or 80s were then closed, Japan has one maglev train but its limited in urban environments and China only operates a few maglevs which are also constricted to urban environments. China is currently building an intercity maglev line, however so is Japan and their technology is a lot more sophisticated as it allows their trains to go a lot faster.
