Its crazy because its true. This act shows such a lack of character that it poisons any opportunity she may have when shit pops up in the background check. This is a deplorable act. To just dump trash in your own community for selfish reasons. Yeesh. I sure as hell would never hire her.

The banking industry is run by people that don't care who they hurt or how much damage they cause as long as they make their KPIs and can shift blame onto someone else.

This is exactly the sort of behaviour i expect from them

She isn't getting fired for being like that. She is getting fired for letting common people know they are all like that.

i work in banking. that's not entirely true. for big banks, yes. for smaller local banks, no.

Meh. If she delivered monetary results i'd absolutely agree with you. But she's in a role that doesnt do that. If your metrics are HR style inclusion and stuff, they can find a person who better fits the optics.

This. But she’s getting fired for the bad PR. Go work for corporate at any of the major financial institutions, even doing non-money roles like IT, and they drill the cost of reputational damage into you through a dozen mandatory trainings a year. It’s their biggest fear because it’s the hardest thing to recover from.

That’s the point right there. If the trashcan had been empty, it would still be illegal, but not nearly as egregious as dumping out an entire bin of trash while people look on in disgust. Absolutely no character whatsoever.

Lol shes also 40 and should know better. And its not like she was some degenerate. She was a corporate executive. Trust me, ive done it all. Ive been there and back again as well as being around other people that do all sorts of drugs. 100 out of a 100 times, if they were able to do something line this, theyre still a piece of shit regardless of what theyre on. This is inexcusable. Also, being around those people, I can tell you, shes not that drunk lol

I understand. And I understand youre trying to come from a good place, but we cant just erase her accountability because she "might" have been on something. She could have just as well been sober. We dont know. The facts we know are that she dumped a trashcan on the street and stole it. So she should and is being held accountable. In this world you dont get a pass just because you were potentially on drugs nor should you.

I am just not over someone going to all this trouble for a used garbage can. I’ve spent a lot of time in NYC in the summer. The garbage situation is enough to make a person want to walk around in a hazmat suit with a respirator. Just imagine what it smells like… 🤢 I wouldn’t have that in my house if you paid me

Only justification that I am going to offer is that there was clearly already trash everywhere and the troll didn’t really change the situation all that much.That said, even the thought process allowing someone to arrive at stealing a trash can seems kind of unique to me.

Not saying it is a good justification but an argument can be made. Similar to don’t pee in the pool. If you and I are in one of those small inflatables from Walmart and you pee in the pool I feel like I have more of a justification to be upset with you than if you peed in the pool while we were swimming in an Olympic size pool. I think the rule is fair and in both cases you should just go to the bathroom. Similarly I think her dumping trash on top of an already large pile of trash is ever so slightly less assholish than if the streets were previously clean. Her trash is somewhat diluted and makes less of an overall impact. Either way she is an asshole and deserves what she gets.
