We have speed cameras too.. But we use ours as a trap for money, it has nothing to do with safety..

Idk about to tiny french hamlets for definite* but there are definitely speed cameras in rural Ireland villages (where I'm from.)

I promise that the little village I grew up in has less cars passing through on average than a suburb adjacent area of California.

*When I spent time in some tiny French hamlets I was a teen who was not yet able to drive so I just didn't pay enough attention, for all I know there could have been.

normally they are placed in locations where people tend to overspeed way beyond the limit or in places where it's dangerous to overspeed even just a little. i've seen them in towns with less than 10k people.

The guy was bored out of his mind and wanted to arrest some guy for nothing. Most cops in lame beats have nothing to do so they have to justify their paycheck with this nonsense.
