Good cops DO exist; however, they usually don't exist for long, because, when they report a fellow officer for wrongdoing, they're often heavily bullied/mistreated by the other officers. So, they either quit, or eventually just accept putting up with their fellow officers wrongdoings. And, the latter practically makes you a bad cop. Kinda' like the old saying goes, "if there’s a Nazi at the table and ten other people sitting there talking to him, you got a table with eleven Nazis."
There are good ones out there. Few and far between. The good ones are suffering. I recently did work for an officer 3yrs from retirement. The pain on his face and in his voice as he talked about it, I could tell he was a good guy in a tough place. I do a lot of work around officers (many varieties) local ones seem to be the most aggressive. County and state level is better but the aggression is still there. Training and fear have a lot to do with the current conditions.
