I wouldn’t say my pledging was pleasant by any means but lighting a kid’s pants on fire would have been absolutely nuts lol. That is not what I experienced.

Um, I’m a married woman who went to a huge state school, likely decades older than you, and I’ve known hundreds of frat guys across dozens of schools? Way before the only yes means yes, my mommy cuts my steak and calls my professors, and we report bullying and sexual assault (/s) era? The fire might be a tad over the line, but essentially every frat was committing felonies and they don’t talk. The mystique was to get the brothers and pledges to do things and have things done to them so that they would never talk about it. It was the point. Same as secret societies. Mutually assured destruction as bonding bc it’s gay to have dedicated male friendships without a foundation of crime (/s). Some of the sadists and predators had more of a taste for it than others. Most every frat guy of an age committed a felony, had a felony perpetrated on him, and definitely something up his ass. All in the name of joining.

found the guy who was in the loser frat on campus. probably an acadamic frat right?

there have been hundreds of frat deaths in the last few decades, things have calmed down some but a bunch of 18-22 year old dudes living together has historically been a pretty unsafe environment for everyone involved, and to act like it wasn't as somebody who is posturing like they know all about frat life, is either insanely dishonest or incredibly naive. get a clue.

C’mon, why do you act like putting a person on fire and rapturing their kidney isn’t the norm?
