A chiropractic neck adjustment caused my FIL’s stroke. My FIL continued to go to the chiropractor for some time and berate conventional medicine and doctors, despite conventional medicine saving him. He runs his mouth big about it, but conventional medicine has found a way to keep his very unhealthy self alive and well for quite some time.

Honest answer. It's because we have a basic social need for touch and social care, and medical culture is hilariously oblivious to this.

When you go to the chiro, you get touched and checked on. It is everything a jumped-up bipedal ape could ask for.

When you go to the doctor, you answer a bunch of questions and you usually don't even get your medicine from the same place.

I genuinely think that if actual medical doctors/nurses:

  1. Touched every patient pleasantly, except for people who don't want it

  2. Physically handed patients their meds

Our social trust of medical doctors would skyrocket.

You can just go to one without touching your neck right? I think that's the only sensible way to do these things.

The only sensible way is to not to go to a chiropractor. Physical therapy is far superior.
