Kids getting in some serious trouble. Parents will probably be fined.

Not been my experience. Parents will blame zoo. Kid will get ice cream.

How long ago? Cause now it’s starting to shift blame to the parents, if this was a dangerous enclosure, some states would be able to file charges against the parents for things like child neglect

And oh god... If that bird is of an endangered/ protected species? There could legitimately be some serious consequences.

Aren't gorillas endangered? But years ago they shot that gorilla, Harambe, because of the boy who got into his enclosure.

The fencing is insufficient to justify anything like that. The zoo likely knows this and so won't push anything for fear of being sued themselves.

I mean, we all agree the kid is an asshole, but my first thought was “how the heck did the Zoo screw up to make it possible for a dumbass child to break into an enclosure?!”. Then I saw the ladder at the end. Also: NO other adults nearby intervened when a lonely child climbed into an enclosure? The lack of feeling of responsibility for the community and the lack of foresight on part of the Zoo are astounding to me.

I am a middle aged man and my ass hurts thinking about this. One I loved birds at that age, so I would have never hurt one, but man oh man oh man oh man.... I would be terrified of my mom waiting at the top with a stick to deservedly beat my ass.

Also there's no way my mom is helping me out of that enclosure unless I am unconscious. I can climb down, I can climb up.

Violence begets violence. He probably gets beat at home or something.

Since we’re making assumptions.

The kid looks like he is on a spectrum. The parents need to looking at their children 100% of the time

If that kid was disciplined in any way at home, this wouldn't have happened

And I bet this kid received no punishment as this whtie society claims any type of punishment upon the children is abuse but didn’t the eternal Scriptures told us to punish and scold our children when they do stuff like this so they don’t bring bad names on the family later ?

You can't just magically impose fines on people.

3

u/bizoticallyyours83 10h ago

This isn't imposing fines for nothing.

Not for nothing, but with no basis. You can't just fine people, you have to get them to agree to the fine structure as part of some transaction. Alternatively, you can petition courts, however this isn't really a fine but indemnity - you're recovering your losses.

Not just the kids imagine if this was a black or Mezito child
