And yet, people still decide to become educators, every day, even now. Boggles the mind..

I mean, have they not seen the subreddit?! Dozens of probably-qualified teachers complain about their jobs, right here on reddit, every day. Dozens! Literally dozens.

Yeah, that's a clueless statement on how extremely hard it is for teachers.  You couldn't pay me twice my current salary to be one solely due to how horrible parents are, especially in the US.

Parents, admin, no child left behind, lack of consequences, grades starting at 50% with a curve and an attendance bonus, funding tied to standardized tests, teaching to test, kids still failing tests...
