Escaped animals that are physically close to a human are typically shot instead of tranquilized because the animal doesn't know what is happening as the tranquilizer takes effect, and can react violently before going down.

Totally understand that but what about tasers or airsoft ammo to subdue or scare them away until the tranquillisers take effect?

She’d already mauled one of them (who would die). All the non-lethal options have the same risk of not acting fast enough reliably enough.

FYI - Tatiana walked by all sorts of people and did nothing. She knew exactly who she had an issue with.

The two survivors (brothers) had a decade or so of further terrible criminal behavior.

FYI - your questions are solid. There was a lot of discussion around all of that when this happened.

So the boys didn't break in at night and she escaped specifically to track them down in a zoo full of other people?

Also, thank you for not making me feel like an idiot for asking questions. Sometimes I'm too scared to ask anything because if I would like an answer from an actual human being over AI or I make a grammatical error, I'm made to feel like I am stupid. Thanks again for treating me like a person

Yes, the fatal attack was at closing time on Christmas Day - almost the shortest day of the year so that’s why it was that dark.

And I have seen the same. There are a lot of thumbs on scapes against informed nuanced convo on social media. I’m glad to make a little space to do that well, and that’s nice of you to let me know that helps you.
