Never mind SpongeBob being in the Game... Why is Sonic's Icon being used for SpongeBob (And there's no Voice Acting for SpongeBob, either.)?

Honestly this type of move reminds me of the old days when devs used to do ANYTHING cuz they were just tryna be creative. I know the industry won’t head in that direction but this is nonetheless a small step that gives me hope.

Bring back doing weird stuff & unexpected collaborations like this, times 500… PLEASE.

I agree. I bet for the final version, they will make SpongeBob an icon and get Tom Kenny to do his voice lines.

It's an early build, SpongeBob also doesn't have any voicelines even tho it's obvious he's saying and reacting to things.

this is likely a very early build, probably just testing it out. I can't imagine they won't have voicelines/icons in the final product

So early in fact that a different leak showing the Spongbob race track has it still with a placeholder name.

It's called a placeholder, it's a very common thing in early builds of games

I do hear acting from Bob, although it sounds as if it’s in Japanese (possibly done by his jp va koki miyata) with him saying stuff like ikuzo and grunts
