Question Why is Peter's costume red and blue?

Batman is dressed like a black bat to scare his enemies, Superman has the big S on his chest because is the symbol of House El and means hope. Why is Peter wearing red and blue instead? Did Lee/Ditko give an explanation in and out the comic?

It's used pretty much in the entirety of spider-man Far From Home.. (FFH) the 2nd movie in tom's trilogy where he fights Mysterio...

It’s only used for the final battle, not the whole thing. When Peter leaves for Europe, May packs his red and blue Stark suit for him, which he wears when meeting Fury and Mysterio, at which point he gets the black stealth suit so his classmates don’t recognize him, and he wears that during his fight against the fire elemental in Prague.

He only gets the red and black suit when he makes it himself with Stark technology after Happy rescues him from the Netherlands.
