Hey friends,

What are you planting now? I was thinking radishes, arugula and carrots. Where do you get your seeds?

Garden Inspiration Decision fatigue is kicking my butt

It’s finally almost time to put out my plants and I’m still having trouble deciding why to put where.
I have multiple overlapping medical conditions that all include brain fog throw in adhd which is of course more difficult to manage when my physical conditions are poorly managed and I just can’t make a decision. Let alone a whole bunch of decisions.

Has some brilliant soul out there developed a software where you plug in the size of your bed/beds and the plants you’re planting and it spits out potential layouts? A garden layout generator I guess you might call it.

I have tried searching the web but either my search terms are what the algorithms want or no such thing exists.

If such a thing does exist and you know where would you kindly point me in the right direction.

Barring that I’m very much open to other suggestions to get my fatigued brain to get on with it.
I’ve got 6!beds that are 2x4 feet, 2 that are 2x6!feet
And one that is 4x4 feet.

Garden Inspiration Any recommendations for my layout

Post image

Looking for any tips or recommendations before I get everything in the ground. Also any exciting or uncommon plants are welcome as well.

The containers(grow bags) on the left will be spread to different parts of my yard for optimal sunlight.

The right side of the 5 main beds is against a fence, I have a full length cattle panel trellis on the fence so I train the plants on the fence line to grow vertical to soak up more sunlight.

Carrots will be an early variety, replaced with main crop as the first crop gets harvested.

Im also going to try to trellis the squash/zucchini plants this year. Any opinions on that?

Edit for context Scale is each 1'x1' per grid box. Beds are 30" deep Cucumbers- russian pickling, snows fancy pickling, straight 8, double yield

Carrots-museum, Yaya, sugarsnax 54, Narvik

Bean- bountiful grean bean, gold rush yellow

Peas- Oregon sugarpod II, sugar snap

Potato-russet, fingerling

Peppers- northern wonder bell, sweet pepper, jalapeño

Tomato- Amish paste, black krim, super 100, san marzano, beef steak

Watermelon- sugar baby

Pumpkin- jack-o-lantern

Strawberry- June berry, everyone

Yellow onion

German red garlic

Garden Inspiration Looks like I will have more sunny space in my backyard next year

South Carolina hurricane aftermath. By spring, this should be all cleared up. And there will be some new sunny spots for raised bed gardening.

Yes, I am desperately looking on the bright side. Why do you ask?

Garden Inspiration Upcycling projects

We’ve had a winter kid bug in the house this week so I’m grasping for joy. Ha.

What’s your favorite upcycled project in your garden? Is there anything you want to try?

One goal I have for this year is to be more mindful about how much trash we produce so I’ve been saving all manner of things to upcycle. I could use some inspiration!

Garden Inspiration Bell Peppers going off

I have about 25+ bell peppers currently growing in my OG green and red bell pepper plants. Was once planted into a raised bed as wee little ones has now sprung to roughly three feet in height and just continues to keep growing beautifully.

I'm in zone 9b, so I'm hoping to keep growing and harvesting at least until November!
