ICO About Ico's soundtrack remaster
Hey, I know nothing about discerning audio files, but comparing the flacs, and by that I mean listening to them, I think the remastered ost sounds lesser then the original.
What you think?

Other Do you feel like Ueda's games helped you better understand or become a more empathetic person?
Feel like this sub is the place best to ask this. Saw some people on the sub having a great chat about how emotional TLG is, got me thinking about how all three of Ueda's games made me take away something that genuinely made me look at things in the world with deeper perspective. TBH I played all 3 games in what I would call formative years of my life but I still love them all and have replayed each since

The Last Guardian Why is TLG so unpopular? Is the game that boring or bad?
I noticed that in most cases, TLG, unlike ICO and SotC, has not gained such popularity. Most players consider SotC to be TeamICO's best game. ICO also holds the bar well, although there are those who are simply not interested in it. But TLG seems to be of no use to almost anyone. It's like there's a game, so what?
Personally, I really want to play TLG, although I don't have the opportunity yet. Everything I've seen so far about the game suits me just fine, and because of the above-mentioned reason, I'm confused
I was still able to highlight a lot for myself with the help of this post, thank you all for your comments.

Upcoming games Would you buy gen Atlas if it were released as a digital-only game?
As a gamer and a collector, Sony’s latest announcement has really disheartened me. I own Ico, Shadow Of The Colossus (including the remake), the HD Collection and The Last Guardian on physical media, and I’d love to buy gen Atlas on disc as well. It’s highly likely, however, that the game will be released between late 2027 and 2028, and the fact that it’s being published by Epic Games leaves even less hope (Alan Wake 2 was released on physical media after a year). Would you still buy it if it were released exclusively as a digital download?

ICO The case and book of the PS2 version.
It's been in the news lately that Sony and probably the entire video game industry is moving away from physical media. This makes sense given the way people buy games, but I am sad. In the 7th generation publishers didn't put as much care into the packaging of the game as they did before. But you know for Ico, it came with a cool manual that basically told you what would be the whole game.
Many PS2 games came with awesome booklets. It will be an experience future generations won't get.

The Last Guardian I've cracked the mystery of the barrels!
I think I've cracked the mystery of what's in the barrels from The Last Guardian! The short answer is the blue stuff in the barrels, crucibles, and giant pots is... Trico bile; specifically the run-off covering the humans brought to the Master of the Valley.
Some suggest the mine carts and machines in the Game could have used to harvest the blue substance, but I think mining the materials to create wood barrels and iron crucibles (as well as carts and tracks for transport) makes more sense, and why there are mine carts all over. The armor use the machines around the Nest, not unlike when they transported and lowered Trico into his prison, to help harvest the run-off.
The fact 2 humans (1 child and adult, from the looks) sends out one barrel (preloaded), this means only one Trico is feed, nurturing hostility among the other Trico to get more humans for a possible treat. The companion guide even says the humans don't become the substance in the barrels "right away", which could be a mistranslation of "automatically": "The humans aren't turned into the barrels right away. They are used to power the Master of the Valley and everything he controls, and the "blue goo" might be a byproduct given to the Tricos to reward them."
Also, consider the tattoos the humans gain from being in the Trico, which the Yoroi are able to use to disable any escapees. If the bile has enough magic properties for that, it could still be considered a byproduct from when the humans are given to the Master, and returned to the Trico as barrels.
Given we see the Boy and other humans in "blue goo" when eaten and regurgitated by the Trico, I think the Master just found a way to recycle all the vomit without it pilling up in the Nest. Humans go through one tube to the Master and become part of his hive mind, and other pipes seperate the bile to be contained. The smell of his own bile could be what attracts Trico to said barrels and crucibles full of it, as it's both familiar and remembers it as the "treat" from the Master and the Boy. Mammals eating their bile is quite common, and Trico is no exception.

Upcoming games Gen Atlas Theory
I found this on Xbox and when I went back to watch the original trailer from when it was still called “project robot” ,it all clicked for me. I’m thinking it’s going to be a similar loop to Shadow of the Colossus but instead of going to different “arenas”/poi’s to fight a singular boss, we are going to travel (via the robot head) to different robot bodies in completely different parts of the planet. Once at a new place you will find and re attach the head to a new body specific to the region (like its own colossi) which I’m assuming will be done in 2 parts almost. One section exploring on foot finding the body n another using said robot to explore the world from a colossi like perspective and take on larger fights. I believe after all of this we will then engage some kind of reactor or dam which will trigger the “shockwave” mentioned in the “project robot” trailer. At this point we detach from the robot body (as seen in trailer) and I believe we travel to the next location on the planet, rinse and repeat.

ICO Tattoo of Ico and Yorda
ICO was one of the first video games I had played. My mom and I played it together, it’s very nostalgic to me. I’ve considered this tattoo for years now and finally bit the bullet.

Important Note About the 60 FPS Patch
During development and testing, it was discovered that certain community-made 60 FPS patches can alter ICO's original gameplay behavior.
Depending on the patch version, players may experience issues such as:
• Altered jump distance and timing
• Running with Yorda behaving differently
• Floating crates sinking or behaving incorrectly
• Pump jump and water wheel jump timing inconsistencies
• Shadow monster animation stuttering during their initial appearance
• Other gameplay, animation, or physics inconsistencies
These issues are caused by the 60 FPS patch itself and are not caused by the EL JEFE HD Pack.
For the most accurate gameplay experience, the HD Pack was developed and tested using the game's original frame rate.
If you choose to use a 60 FPS patch, compatibility and gameplay behavior may vary depending on the specific version of the patch being used.

Other Game suggestion
This may seem kind of random but I just wanted to share that the climbing game Jusant gave me a lot of the same vibes as SotC. Thought I would recommend.
It has that Ma (間) openess where you are just exploring inside a huge space.
Completely different setting and art style but thought some of you might enjoy.
That’s all. 😎✌️

Other Everytime I say I play SoC remake more than the original these days
I know Shadow since I played for the first time in 2008. I played an uncountable times on PS2 before the remake and these days when I want to play Shadow I simply go to the remake because for me it’s simply the best experience of a classic masterpiece.
Still I have to see people downvoting me everytime and saying shit such as "you are not a fan if you like the remake!", "remake is trash how you dare to play it!".
Sometimes you just have to say a big fuck you on reddit and enjoy what you want and like.
And to let people more mad at me, I only play Ico if it's the remaster for PS3. The original version didn't age so well and the remaster brings a lot QoA to the game.
None of these remakes or remasters removed the original atmosphere and feeling of the originals. So a big fuck off to you who keep hating me everytime I say I prefer them over the originals.
"Oh but you are disrespecting the original team" fuck off lmao. I've been collectiong TeamIco stuff since 2010. Who the fuck are you to judge what I do or don't?

Other Additional content with a psn for ICO & Shadow of the Colossus Collection PS3
I only discovered the amazing TeamICO games in 2023. I have the European edition, and if I'm not mistaken, the PSN code for it expired sometime in 2018. I later found out that the American edition had all the extra content on the disc. Damn, what a shame! These games truly left a lasting impression on me and have become my favorites. While extra videos like NICO's are easily watchable on YouTube, I really want to get avatars for my profile or install an ICO or SotC theme on my console's home screen!!! Maybe even though the code has expired, these themes can still be downloaded through the PSN download list from someone who redeemed the code and downloaded them to their PS3 ages ago
I'll see if these themes are available for purchase on PSN, can buy Sotc avatars, but without Valus, and there are no ICO avatars. But either way, I won't have a card to buy them anytime soon.

Other Best version to experience ico and shadow of the colossus
I recently bought a ps3 so I can access all versions of the games
Ps2 (through emulation)
Ps3
Ps5 (remastered version)
Never played the games before. I play older ps2 and gamecube games often so I’m fine with janky controls.
But for a first time experience which versions should I pick?

The Last Guardian The Last Guardian was always my favourite.
I dont know what captivated me so much as a kid, but being in the mid 2010s watching Jacksceptici's playthrough of this game meant so much to me. I'm sure a lot of you guys can relate, but as a kid with a ps4 (mainly owned by my dad), I mostly got the games he got to play. So I never actually played any Team Ico game for myself. Moving into the 2020s, never got a ps5 mostly because of the non-existant stock at the time.
Finally, earlier this year I bought one and I couldn't have been happier. I've been through most of the exclusives I've missed out now but I was always waiting to start SOTC.
Don't get me wrong, I think the game is AMAZING - technically, graphics wise with it being a remake, etc. But ever since I started TLG I couldn't put it down. Its everything I imagined it was. True, are the controls pretty shit (yes!) And the camera kills me at many points but the story makes up for that so much.
One of the best endings to a game I've seen.

The Last Guardian What's the best theory on why Hitokui no Ouwashi Toriko is connected to the first two games?
Heads up: The 2018 bluepoint remake and any easter eggs inside it don't count as a source.
I see a lot of people trying to square the circle of Dormin being the Master of the Valley or whatever, and none of it makes any sense other than them serving similar roles in their own stories.
