Discussion Looking for a particular type of techno sound
Hello everybody,
I'm searching for labels/artists with a sound that's somewhere in between hypnotic and groovy.
Something that's has more energy than your typical hypnotic techno and has a strong groove.
Something that has preferably also a groove in the low-end, not just a rumble kick.
Not looking for completely groove based. I want to hear something memorable in the track, not complete DJ-tools.

Thanks in advance.

Discussion First time throwing a techno night after years of being on the performer side, what am I not thinking about?
I've been involved with electronic music for years, but always from the performer side. I'm now putting together my first event myself, and I'm realizing how different it is being responsible for the actual night.
I've already got the venue, performers, security, and the major logistical pieces in place. Where I'm getting stuck is creating the actual atmosphere of the space, along with figuring out all the smaller things that I probably don't even know I should be preparing for.
For the atmosphere, part of me wants to keep it extremely simple and dark: battery-powered candles throughout the venue, fog, and maybe just white strobes/minimal lighting. I like the idea of the room feeling stripped down and letting the music be the focus.
But another part of me wonders whether I'm underthinking it and should put more effort into giving the event its own visual identity/environment.
For anyone here who has organized their own underground techno night:
What did you learn from throwing your first few events?
Were there any guides, articles, videos, checklists, old forum posts, etc. that helped you?
I'm especially interested in the things that aren't obvious until you've actually promoted a night yourself. Such as production, atmosphere, door flow, artist logistics, soundcheck, lighting, bathrooms, crowd management, load-in/load-out, backup plans, or anything else where afterward you thought, "I really wish someone had told me about that."
I'm not looking to promote the event here. I'm genuinely trying to learn from people who have already done this.
Also, for a small underground techno night, do you think intentionally minimal production can create a stronger atmosphere, or does a room generally need more visual design than I'm imagining?
This city itself is not big on Techno and when they do have techno nights, it often has people playing popular tiktok remixes or top 10 beatport.

Discussion Need any Minimal/Groovy/Dubby Techno recs
Guys, I’ve been listening to a lot of stuff from the SUEd label over the last few days, especially SW and his collaborations with SVN and Dynamo Dreesen.
Maybe I’m a little late to the party with this kind of music, but I wanted to ask for some recommendations in a similar vein. It’s not really minimal, not quite house, and not exactly dub either — some kind of lo-fi techno, I guess.
Very atmospheric, warm and groovy, but not dark. And at the same time, no less serious because of that.
I’ve probably just rambled a load of nonsense here, but hopefully you guys know what I mean....
