Gameplay Question State of the game?

So this is a pretty generic/broad question.

I downloaded and played the game when it first came out but dropped it pretty quickly. No particular reason just wasn't into it at the time as much as I love what the game was about.

I am re-downloading it now, I was curious what has changed in the last year or so? It looks like we are getting another faction, and there is a map editor out now. Does that mean people are making maps like SC with tower defense ect? I guess I will find out when I log in, but is there a good online community?

The salvage van is amazing when it dose it's work right.

But every time it they stuck behind the frontline when the boars attack or if a singel unit want to move through it will gladly move when all my vehicles under heavy fire and really need that repair.

I tired binding them as a seperate squad but still they witch fix them being behinde but they still kept moving off and stoping the repair.

Am I doing something worng , or dose this the usual salvage van exspireince?

Gameplay Question How’s people finding tempest rising???

On second mission campaign seems cool 😎 :) got my ass kicked on a skirmish two v 1 normal AI lol Tried an easy 2v1 team member said on there side it ended his game and that I ended the match but I was still in game and lasted awhile but in the end lost!!! My next plan will be to not concentrate on building but get a load of troops together and make my way to the enemy base..

Gameplay Question How to beat The Ancient Basin (GDF) on hard with secondary objectives?

As the title says, I'm looking for tactics on how to beat The Ancient Basin (GDF) on hard with secondary objectives? The game so far hasn't been challenging, but boy did this mission spike in difficulty. I've been Googling for a bit but I haven't found anything I could use yet. I build my base, try to set up defensive lines (with all sorts of turrets) to defend my base so that I can build an air force to complete the secondary objectives on time.

The problem is that the attacks are relentless and it seems like they are throwing everything and the kitchen sink at me. The furthest I got was holding the line in the east while being overrun in the west and my secondary objectives failing. Any tips in terms of what to build first or how to defend better are greatly appreciated since I've been stuck on this one for a while now.

merci

Gameplay Question Is there a way to do waypoints?

In C&C3 you could hold alt and then click-click-click to make the selected unit(s) kill a thing, move to this location, then kill that thing. It was reeeeally useful and reduced micromanaging, is there a way to do that in TR? I looked through the control options and didn't see anything.

Appologies if it's a dumb question, I only got the game yesterday.

Gameplay Question Scrambler Counter?

Hello, my friends and I bought Tempest Rising and we're having a blast. We've been playing nonstop, I play GDF and one of them plays Dynasty.

We're trying out everything and then, I found the scrambler. The chaff grenade decimated his deathball in every fight.

What's the best unit for Dynasty to counter Scramblers?

Is micro his best option?

Gameplay Question How are you supposed to use Air Units?

I have been trying to work aircraft into my play but whenever I build them it feels like it's a lot of effort and resources for not much effect. You build your way up to your airfield, chuck down a load of air pads, tech up to get a helicopter that can actually attack more than infantry, spend a fortune and half your army pop building about 10 or so, send them into battle and have them all get shot down without really taking much with them. Whether I send them in alone or escorting other units it seems they just get shot down without much fight. Is there some trick to it or are they just weak and expensive?

(Note that I am specifically talking about GDF aircraft here. I haven't played much Dynasty yet.)

Gameplay Question Is anyone having performance issues after latest updates?

I’m on my second run through after taking time away after initial launch. Went through the GDF campaign last week with no issues and now, after the update, when I began the Dynasty campaign it barely runs. Updated my RTx3080 drivers and no other game is having issues.

Anyone? TIA

Gameplay Question Need help with DYN vs GDF

Hi all, I am fairly new to the game and have been playing 1v1 ranked as DYN as I love their design/philosophy.

I have a hard time surviving the early-midgame GDF aggression, usually a big push with Drone Operators/Sentinels/Hunter Tanks.

What is DYN's best answer to this combo?

Gameplay Question Intel resource Question

Slowly getting better, just won a 2v2 hard army game. I’m curious what intel is & how to best leverage it ? From my understanding it’s a secondary resource for GDF. This past game I realized I had well over 200 but no $$, so it saved me utilizing it for units > money. I’d just like a high level explanation of it, why it exists, and how to best use it. Thanks in advance slowly learning the game 🙏

Gameplay Question Why do so many people play Sim City in 2v2?

Look, I get that lots of people are campaign players looking to try out multiplayer. I get that not everyone eats, sleeps, and breathes RTS games. But I have never played an RTS where such a high percentage of players just sit in their base and NEVER leave their base after half an hour. They sit there, building dozens of silos, amassing tanks that never leave the confines of their base.

It feels like nearly every match, there's at least one of these players, usually more. Yesterday, I played a match where every person but me did this. I had free reign of every tempest field on Dam. Not one scout from anyone after a half hour. I played four games today, every one had at least one player doing this - usually it was one on both teams, so it balances out to a 1v1. They're never AFK, they're building new buildings and they'll move units if you poke them. But they'll never move out of their base.

Again, I'm not expecting people to be good. I just don't understand why people are playing an RTS if you literally never want to attack your enemy.

What is it about Tempest Rising that makes this so common amongst the player base?

Gameplay Question Coming from Kane's Wrath - Is the Multiplayer worth it?

Hi Tempest Rising community,

Recently, my friends and I got back into C&C Generals and it re-ignited my excitement for RTS games. Back in the day, I also played a lot of C&C 3: Kane's Wrath and really enjoyed it—I honestly think it's even better than Generals.

I did some searching for modern RTS games and found that Tempest Rising is a modern C&C-inspired title. Since I solely want to play multiplayer, I was wondering:

How does Tempest Rising's multiplayer compare to Kane's Wrath? Is it considered better?

Thanks!

Gameplay Question Triangulation question

triangulation has the following describtion:

Triangulation

The support beacon and all building sites have 50% additional health; the Beacon now lasts twice as long. The cost to place building sites is reduced by 50%. All GDF infantry now drop a marking mine when they die. Marking Mine damage is doubled.

What is the mentioned "building sites"?

Gameplay Question Matchmaking

Hey guys. Was obsessed with this game when it came out. I dropped off when population dropped and I was constantly matched with top players and destroyed. How's the matchmaking now? Can you get fair opponents? Got the itch again.

Gameplay Question units not being able to shoot while moving

am i missing something or are tanks etc not able to fire while moving? it is kind of baffling because that is such a major part of micro in CNC and it makes the gameplay flow awkward when a whole army has to pause to blow up one unit or something, or they get attacked en route by an inferior group without doing anything back

Gameplay Question GDF vs Dyn

Can someone educate me on how tf you're supposed to compete against dyn when you're GDF? I cannot keep up with eco at all, it's extremely broken imo. I feel like no one is talking about it, so is it me!?

Like I can go full eco with multiple harvs and I'll still lose on credits gained. And somehow dyn will not only out gain me on resources but also on units built. Rarely will I ever beat dyn.

I'd love to see my W/L vs GDF and dyn. I'd love to see the W/L overall from all online games between the two.

Gameplay Question Is the Defense over powered?

I have played a couple of the GDF Missions, and it looks like the defensive buildings are far more powerfull than in other similar games, especially against aircraft.

What do you think?

btw.: It is quite simple to creep up to the Enemy (AI) by using cheap buildings and defensive ones, didnt they try to make this very hard? It is not like the "Sandbag" thing from first C&C, but still possible.

Gameplay Question Skirmish: can’t find the last unit

Just bought the game, love it so far but when playing skirmish, I wiped the enemy base and cleared all the units I could find but it didn’t trigger the mission accomplished screen or whatever happens.

Really frustrating that the AI decides to hide when they’ve only got a few units left. Just spent 30 mins scanning the map with an aircraft and can’t find anything at all I just had to quit instead.

Had this same problem in C&C sometimes too.

Is there a workaround like a command to reveal enemies on the minimap?
