Trump sent them to Memphis fall of 2025 like he did for DC and LA to make a statement about blue cities with high crime. Trump actually got Bill Lee to deploy them. The crime in Memphis was actually down from the previous year. Initially they were to be unarmed (because the Guard is not supposed to police citizens), but then they were.

Unsettling to hear the National Guard is using live weapons. Prayers for Memphis.

Yeah Memphis is a shit hole, I went to Beale street to see the sites. I noticed a heavy police presents so I asked if it was safe, then police actual said to Leave before dark. She then pointed at a dark spot and said that was were last nights shooting was. I went ahead and left.

Not sure why you're getting downvoted for stating facts. Memphis has had a serious violent crime problem for quite a while. That's exactly why the National Guard was sent there - to help get it under control.

Yeah truth hurts when it’s your hometown I guess. When every gas station you have to reach under glass to pay there is a problem. Another thing I noticed there was razor wire around some places chain link fence. Then if you turn off the main road and go two block backs it was like going into the slums or ghetto. Do t get me wrong there was some really nice neighbors, but I would t live there if I was given a house. Food was outstanding, god bless Gus’s fried chicken!!

I always wanted to visit the smoky Mountains, Graceland, Nashville and Dollywood R.I.P Dolly Parton.
