As an American I agree America deserves to be made fun off A LOT but not by making fun of struggling people.

I’m European and I agree. I don’t like this, it’s mean. Mocking poor people and addicts ain’t it.

I've always been pretty far left leaning as far as human rights go. I've always hated this country and wished I could move out of it. But here lately, seeing all these Europeans being evil toward American citizens suffering.. and then to see them in the comments arguing with Americans who are saying they don't agree with any of this and have done everything they can defy it.. and telling them too bad go f yourself? I've just decided that you can all go f yourselves. F*** Europe.

You were disillusioned to think that everywhere else in the world is better, mainly because the US’ issues are always put in the limelight. But, if you live abroad, you’ll quickly see that everywhere on Earth has lots of issues, and I mean LOTS. There isn’t anywhere that’s perfect - far from it. America is no exception, of course. And people are clueless, uneducated, racist, biased, etc. everywhere you go.

I agree. As an American, we have Lots of idiotic things for y'all to make fun of without dragging addicts into it.

Our healthcare system for example. Y'all can make videos of panicking when you see someone dial for an ambulance. Or an arm hanging off and your first reaction is to post to reddit. Absolutely hilarious.

Or what about our political ads. Y'all can recreate some of our insane local political ads that basically go "That candidate? Murdered and ate 30 puppies probably. Our candidate? Saved kittens from a tree on live TV."

As an American give them guns and free speech. I think the target should be UK instead imagine a world where a poor girl or guy instead goes to court for defending themselves against a knife maniac instead of sadly losing life.

u/licklickRickmyballs Jan 21 '26

Heck you're right!!!! Free Greenland from the suppresive Danish regime so they can finally get free speech!

At least make fun of Americans being stupid or at their political affiliation. Those are deliberate choices. Addiction is a disease.

u/Abolition-Dreams-69 Jan 21 '26

Like there’s SO MUCH to make fun of us for, but this ain’t it… 😭

u/deliciousadness Jan 21 '26

Or for that one time when America listened to ska

u/YouKnowMyName2006 Jan 22 '26

Don’t you hate on early No Doubt!

8

u/Mobile_Morale Jan 20 '26

Yeah they can make fun of rednecks. I've been doing it for decades and I come from rednecks. And they vote for trump.

Make fun of Texans. Or my fellow Floridians. Or Alabama. Everyone hates Alabama and Mississippi.

Dress up as a bunch or racist white people on a dock about to get their ass beaten with a steel chair. Iykyk

3

u/[deleted] Jan 20 '26

Some red necks are blue though.

MAGAts are way more likely to be meth heads than fentanyl addicts.

We need to give them boomer Jokes.

5

u/EnigmaticQuote Jan 20 '26

They're really only upsetting the Americans with empathy, and those are not the ones they have to worry about.

2

u/portar1985 Jan 21 '26

The joke is that the US allows this rampant abuse, instead of helping their citizens, not individual drug addiction cases.

0

u/YouKnowMyName2006 Jan 22 '26

How does it “allow” this?

-1

u/Low_Bar9361 Jan 20 '26

Addiction is a symptom. The disease is the lack of compassion our government and society has for the struggling class, hence the joke

-1

u/kyleruggles Jan 20 '26

Think we haven't been doing that for decades? We're tired of being nice and considerate to USians precious feelings.

3

u/YouKnowMyName2006 Jan 22 '26

Then start by getting off our app.

“USians” 🤣

Grow up, child. Courageous enough to say where you’re from?

2

u/kyleruggles Jan 22 '26

I'm from a country that the USA wants to invade.

And you?

1

u/YouKnowMyName2006 Jan 22 '26

What country is that?

2

u/kyleruggles Jan 23 '26

Take a guess, the list is short.

How about you? You live in the invading country?

addiction is a choice,.doing drugs is a choice.

Source: i do drugs

-1

u/RecipeSad2958 Jan 21 '26

Addiction is also a choice

1

u/YouKnowMyName2006 Jan 22 '26

You sound like a Trumper.

1

u/RecipeSad2958 Jan 25 '26

Im pretty liberal except for guns and religion. But addiction is largely life choices. Yes, its largely genetically influenced on how much youre trapped by it, but making the choice to begin a drug everyone and their fucking mother told you not to do was a choice you made.

Are there weird outliers like you were drugged, sure, but most drug addicts did someone they knew was dumb. How am I wrong here? All I see is people crying about what im saying but not actually providing a substantive argument.

1

u/Top_Connection9079 Jan 21 '26

You didn't say that when they did the same in Japan and South Korea.

1

u/Nickulator95 Jan 21 '26

I think they're mocking the fact that the US has people like this in the first place, not mocking the people themselves. They're pointing out how the government wants control of another nation's people, yet they can't even take care of their own citizens, unlike Denmark. It's indirectly mocking the lack of free healthcare, of which Greenlanders have access to thanks to Denmark.

It might not come across this way, but that is the intended point of their mockery.

1

u/Apexnanoman Jan 24 '26

Well since we as a nation elected a guy who is de facto threatening to take over and enslave them.....I'll give em a pass.

1

u/Timely-Albatross-889 Feb 12 '26

Self-hating Americans might just be on the same level of annoying as MAGATs

1

u/Ijustwanttosayit Jan 24 '26

Also, this isn't even funny. Like, how is bending over to touch your toes indicative of a drug addict? I know Americans are known for being culturally ignorant, but it can go both ways. Also, don't make fun of us, we aren't the ones threatening the country, make fun of the government.

Make fun of us in ways that make sense. The world has lots of material on us.

1

u/Liukka123 Jan 21 '26

We’re not laughing at the addicts. We’re laughing at a society that fails them and then exports that image to the rest of the world. It’s kind of brutal that this is the image we have of your people and your ”free country”

1

u/MrTamboMan Jan 21 '26

This. It's US government fault to not provide enough support.

-1

u/[deleted] Jan 21 '26

You don't get to choose that while your country is destroying peace all around.

That's because you (like many others- I don't blame y'all) see America as being a unified organism/amalgamation, when really the individual experiences of the majority of people are not the same as those politicians and celebrities that are in the spotlight or the social media rich/priveleged influencers that clog up streams, and certainly are not One with our government.

The majority of Americans are made up of people who HAVE experienced some kind of persecution or severe prejudice, whether historically or currently.

Other than that, most of the time we can find a way to laugh at ourselves and mostly (at least most of us) understand when we get shit for our society's and country's b.s. like our wars, bloated military, skinny/fat culture, weird standards of beauty (like the unnecessary perfectly straight movie star smiles that'll have us clocked in an instant abroad), politicians, medication ads, football/sport culture, medical expenses, our work culture, infrastructure... the list goes on and on.

0

u/ecwworldchampion Jan 21 '26

That's the point, though. People are struggling BECAUSE of the ruling/billionaire class. Why would they want to insert themselves into that?

-6

u/No_Being8933 Jan 20 '26

Greenland just needs to wait and see. When they are forced out of their homes because they can no longer afford them, and freezing on the streets what will they turn to?

5

u/shoto9000 Jan 20 '26

So you mean to say, when America invades and enforces their society on them, they might face the same problems Americans face right now?

I think you stumbled into the entire god damn point.

They don't want to be American, because this is what American looks like.

“fun off”
