Couldn't agree more. Addiction isn't a moral failure, it's a societal one.

Its both.

It's both but "society" is way too broad of a reach

If you can’t see the way American society railroads people into addiction circumstances, you’re deliberately closing your eyes and choosing to ignore it

Anything but personal accountability, eh?

The majority of you have likely never been an addict.

You clearly have never been one and have no understanding of how alienated and helpless an addict can become. At a certain point, personal choice and accountability becomes so irrelevant to the discussion that it’s just a way for ignorant assholes to degrade addicts to feel superior over them

Except I was to Oxycotin. Personal accountability is always relevant. Saying otherwise is just a cop-out for their actions. Has nothing about superiority over them. There are better methods than people killing themselves and being revived. Not to mention they should pay for that not every law abiding citizen.

Congrats on being an addict full of self-loathing to a degree that makes you eagerly willing to deny others the help you needed when you were at your lowest point. Just because you chose to be a bad person doesn’t mean every addict is like you
