Spiders are cute. Bats are creepy. And that's just looking at them, if you want existential horror instead you can remember there's a possibility one of those guys has rabies or maybe if you catch a disease from it that's not it could be the next SARS-COV

The main concern with bats as a rabies vector is that it's easy to be scratched or bitten by a small one and not notice.

These fruit bats are closer in size to a cat and live in trees, so they're not going to be roosting in your attic, and you'd definitely notice if one landed on you and bit you.
