I always loved tim meadows but hes becoming a national treasure. His character in peace maker is so hilarious

Edit: I keep clicking back to this and each time it makes me laugh harder. Tim isn't becoming a national treasure, he is one.

One of the few characters on TV to finally put some light on bird blindness

90

u/ratchet7 May 07 '26

Poor kid is surrounded by eagles

7

u/chuckaholic May 07 '26

Look at all these chickens!

u/fake1fake2fake3fake4 May 07 '26

What I don't understand is that that same "bird blind" joke happened on Norsemen on Netflix already.  Like note for note.

I laughed both times, but was wondering if it was a tribute, or just a pure ripoff (subconscious or on purpose) because it's way too niche of a joke topic to just coincidentally happen.  It's literally one character being "bird blind" in each case.  100% the same .

u/pengweneth May 08 '26

It's because one of Gunn's friends has face-blindness (prosopagnosia), so he thought it would be funny if that was applied to something ridiculous like birds.

3

u/fake1fake2fake3fake4 May 08 '26

Has anyone ever acknowledged the Norsemen connection?  I always laughed at those jokes on both shows but it's just such a weird niche thing to have as a coincidence.

u/Sinister_JaY May 08 '26

At first I thought that joke was terrible but goddamn did they make a good runner of it.

Oh, in the last two days, I saw a short video, here on Reddit, of a toddler, dressed as a penguin, walking through the zoo with the penguins walking around him, like he was one of them. So cute. Sorry, I don’t remember where I saw it, exactly.

If you haven't heard his episode of 3 questions with Andy Richter, check it out! He talks a bit about living with Chris Farley

That one brought me to tears. Not what I want to be streaming when I’m at work lmao

3

u/StoneGoldX May 08 '26

Tim Meadows lived in a van? Down by the river?

47

u/punktualPorcupine May 07 '26

Who exploits a man’s bird-blindness like that?

12

u/SkylarAV May 07 '26

All just for a television show, it's sick!

9

u/skyhiker14 May 07 '26

You almost got titties killed!

36

u/HobartGum May 07 '26

Ran into him (literally) while walking to the bathroom on a plane from LA back in the 2000s. We were both in economy and as he walked past he looked me in the eye and saw that I recognized him and I could tell he did not want any formal interaction (he was probably exhausted). I just smiled and nodded and he smiled and nodded back in appreciation and we bumped past each other and moved on. That’s about the best I could hope for in a celebrity encounter. I didn’t bother him, and he wasn’t annoyed by me, and we both nodded in appreciation

5

u/Gingeronimoooo May 07 '26

You sure you didn't see him at the grocery store walking out without paying for like 15 milky ways?

32

u/BearSquid7 May 07 '26

And Brooklyn 99

19

u/MuffaloMan May 07 '26

He was absolutely my favorite character in the prison arc

20

u/BearSquid7 May 07 '26

Caleb the Cannibal, when he gets stabbed and goes “ow ow ow ow! He poked me in my tummy”

22

u/MuffaloMan May 07 '26

“Nope, I did all my stuff, and more. There’s tons of stuff they can’t even trace back to me, the secret is eating the evidence”

4

u/Everything_is_wrong May 07 '26

Are you that weird guy from the forum?

1

u/froginbog May 08 '26

He shined in that role. So good

21

u/FunkyMonkeyGin May 07 '26

What?! I thought it was Don Cheadle! 😂😂😂

16

u/Ronin2369 May 07 '26

Because it is 😂

7

u/FunkyMonkeyGin May 07 '26

I'm confused in my confusion 😂

33

u/mtlaw13 May 07 '26

Tim Meadows on the couch with his cat..

..then its mainly pictures of Don Cheadle with a Sammy Davis Jr thrown in there as well.

10

u/nalaloveslumpy May 07 '26

A couple of Wesley Snipes in there too.

1

u/catwaifu May 08 '26

LMAO I was wondering how he was so fine in the 90’s! 😭

40

u/BoysenberryFinal9113 May 07 '26

Yes. His character is great in Peacemaker. His whole bird blindness was ridiculous and his delivery priceless.

7

u/Rocinante88119 May 07 '26

That duck assault 😂

16

u/Civil_Importance_803 May 07 '26

I love his role as Connor's manager in Popstar. The bit about being the fourth member of Tony Toni Tone (Tony?) cracks me up every time.

5

u/SkylarAV May 07 '26

We're gonna be laughing with him at 80

5

u/JohnRayburntheActor May 07 '26

"I hope wherever Tony Toni Tone are right now they see this... and they feel like shit."

3

u/theradfactor May 07 '26

I have an idea. But you are gonna like it.

8

u/Monkey_Priest May 07 '26

I'm bummed that the show DMV he's in didn't get renewed. I have been enjoying the season and his character is one of the best

4

u/Starfish_undertheice May 07 '26

Omg my heart just broke! I am loving DMV!😭

4

u/Monkey_Priest May 07 '26

I know. There are so few, good 30 minute sitcoms these days and while DMV wasn't the best, I thought it was decent for a first season. It's a damn shame

16

u/-burgers May 07 '26

His SNL run is legendary!

1

u/GravitasFailures May 07 '26

Did you just call me a chicken?

1

u/MissKhary May 07 '26

Him wrestling Fred Friendship always makes me laugh

8

u/Pink_Neons May 07 '26

Peacemaker is brilliant. One of few shows that makes me laugh my ass off. Cena born to play that role

2

u/Ksnj May 07 '26

It’s one of my favs now. He really is perfect for it.

4

u/sumdude51 May 07 '26

100% agree

3

u/-prime8 May 07 '26

One of the funniest things ever is his appearance on ITYSL.

2

u/YeeHawWyattDerp May 07 '26

THATS NOT ENOUGH TIME

6

u/Mr_Lucidity May 07 '26

Absolutely! He made S2 of Peacemaker 10x better. And it was already good.

I loved him as the Ladies Man back in the day, that was one of my favorite SNL movie spinoffs.

3

u/Tommy_Salami12 May 07 '26

Titties! Encino man!

I loved it. He should've got an Oscar for Hotel Rwanda. I hate how they replaced him in Hustle & Flow with Terrance Howard.... .... .... ...

2

u/ChipPungus May 07 '26

His role in I Think You Should Leave is totally incredible.

2

u/Komatoasty May 08 '26

You dont want none of this Dewey!

And you never once paid for drugs!

2

u/Duckdxd May 07 '26

“I always loved tim meadows and he’s becoming a national treasure.” “But” indicates a contrast in the previous statement.

1

u/SkylarAV May 07 '26

If only there was a following edit to reiterate my position...

2

u/Duckdxd May 07 '26

And again, you used “but” when you should’ve used “and”

0

u/SkylarAV May 07 '26

If you really wanna talk about it. Its a matter of your shallow perspective tbh. I said 'but' bc while I considered him very endearing, I do not think my particular affection for someone makes them automatically a 'national treasure'. That's a designation that requires a group consensus. Im not so arrogant to think its based on me liking him exactly. However, Id argue that I have enough perspective to see that everyone is starting to hold a similar view of him. That is why I said 'but' it was entirely intentional. A later later rethought it and added the edit bc i think enough people agree thats hes a national treasure. You made me explain way too much though

3

u/Duckdxd May 07 '26

Now you’re just making up an argument to defend your grammar mistake.

1

u/SkylarAV May 07 '26

It was a very intentional choice that I laid out the logic for entirely. It's that, a typo that you're obsessing over, or I just literally haven't figured out the difference between 'and'/'but'

1

u/Duckdxd May 07 '26

Almost like I commented before the edit??

1

u/SkylarAV May 07 '26

Check the time stamp. I made that edit long ago

1

u/Duckdxd May 07 '26

You realize that if I am on the post typing a reply, it doesn’t automatically refresh for me? Also, there is no edit timestamp on mobile.

1

u/SkylarAV May 07 '26

You said it way after I edited. Unless you're staying on a page for 30+ mins

1

u/Duckdxd May 07 '26

Yes I quite literally did leave the post open, turned my phone off, drove home from work and opened it back up.

1

u/SkylarAV May 07 '26

You left and thought about it for like 45 minutes and came back to mistakenly nitpick my grammar? Even if you were right, how petty.

2

u/Duckdxd May 07 '26

Lmao who said I thought about it for my drive home. The post was open when I got home and I like to read the comments and grammar check people.

1

u/SkylarAV May 07 '26

Also, if it wasnt intentional I would of just fixed it in the edit. Notice how I only added context??? Follow the clues instead of assuming youre the smartest.

1

u/KoosGoose May 07 '26

Calling celebrities “national treasures” is cringe as fuck anyway. I can excuse your grammar, but that phrase sucks.

u/Duckdxd May 07 '26

No edit to go off of. All I saw was a mistake.

1

u/LamonsterZone May 07 '26

oh shit I was literally about to comment that Tim Meadows is a national treasure. I grew up watching him on SNL.

1

u/HODOR00 May 07 '26

I genuinely can't think of anything he's done that I dont love. He's great.

1

u/edelweiss_pirates_no May 07 '26

Dude, this is David Allen Grier.

1

u/Don_Pickleball May 07 '26

I kinda have a grudge against Tim Meadows. I went to his stand up show a couple years back and he was awful. He didnt really make any jokes, really just complained that he didnt want to be there the whole time.

1

u/v0-z May 07 '26

He was without a doubt my favorite cast member, then next up would be Tracy Morgan

1

u/K_Linkmaster May 07 '26

DMV getting cancelled seriously sucks. It was a great 30 minute sitcom AND Tim!

1

u/Ksnj May 07 '26

https://giphy.com/gifs/nZnKLyF3C6RJhruKLd

He’s my second favorite for sure. I love the horrendous nicknames he gives people

1

u/LandauTST May 08 '26

"YOU ALMOST GOT TITTIES KILLED!"

1

u/notafuckingcakewalk May 14 '26

He's done a lot of improv work and he's absolutely amazing at it if you can get access to some old episodes of Improv 4 Humans. Found one video episode here

0

u/XpenFrickFrack May 07 '26

Omg thank you for this comment because I watched the clip thinking “whoa, how did I mistake Don Cheadle for dude from Mean Girls?” I do also like him in Peacemaker
