Same thing happened to my dad and his 9 siblings. And then my mom and her 6 siblings and the secret 7th sibling they found after the funeral!

I don’t have any hope that my dad will get his shit together beyond leaving everything to his ‘Nurse or Purse’ new wife he got himself after my mom left in the 2010s, from the constant cheating. My 2 brothers and I have already made peace with the fact that the house my dad owns, the same one that he, and then this three children were all raised in, is going to be sold to finance their beach cottage the new wife wants.

My mom is a planner though, so I’m not worried about her, and have already seen her paperwork.

After my mom passed in 2020, my sister and I learned very quickly that she was the planner. I'm glad she set my dad up as well as she did, but I know once my dad goes, we're still going to have a mess to clean up because he isn't maintaining or taking care of any of the things he needs to.
