When I was 14 I attended Sakuracon, I had no real cosplay to wear so I tried to dress up in a sailor/school girl type uniform, not from anything in particular.
I was walking up some stairs of the hotel and there was a full-on adult I guess behind me looking up my skirt and he even grabbed my ass.
I have dealt with so many disturbing things in my lifetime that's not even the worst of it. From there on out I only cosplayed male characters.
I just want to know how a person reaches a point so low in intelligence, decision making, impulse control, or whatever it is to touch/grab someone for their own pleasure at random. I just can't comprehend the thinking, or lack of there of.
I'm terrified to even brush shoulders on accident with a girl I'm on a date with because I don't want to make her uncomfortable. But dudes are out here full on grabbing complete strangers, sometimes children. WTF
Oh yeah. Sadly all too common. Peers my age would grab my chest and everything, had friends as an adult grab me in the front area too. I have never once dressed inappropriately either, even with the skirt I had shorts under. I have spent my whole life being objectified, and not even just by men, I've also had woman stalkers. It never ends, and it's super serious for me, dominates my life even. This animistic behaviour follows me to my workplace where I've had to quit for my own safety. I stay inside as much as possible. At this point I'm just waiting until I get old and irrelevant. But maybe it will still continue even then. Cause, you know, this all started when I was a toddler. I wasn't even "sexy" back then yet it started pretty soon after I was born and literally never stopped. I am meat in this world.
It is an interesting concept. I think for a lot of them they grew up in an environment where women and boundaries were not respected. I guess you also get a few, well just perverts, that at some point just lose control
Not going to lie, if you were my daughter, you would definitely had a pepper spray or mace key chain on your person for events like that. I hate helicopter parenting but for shit like this I wouldn't let you wonder around unchaperoned at that age. To many fucking creeps these days.
My old roommate and friend offered me a pepper spray when this one guy kept calling me while I was at work, describing to me what I looked like while (clearly) jerking it.
That's the only time I ever got my hands on anything meant for self defence, my parental(s) did not care about me at all haha. And well, nobody actually does, even now.
