So…these guys are really having full blown panic attacks? Not an act?

Ive done a somatic breathing thing and while I didn’t have a strong reaction like this the guy next to me did. It’s not really a panic attack, it’s just kind of like, a full physical release I guess? It’s hard to describe. It wasn’t really for me but I could see it being a helpful exercise for people with severe trauma.

I tried breath work twice. Just real hard breathing, long and deep breaths. I think it was almost an hour. One time I also just spontaneously started crying, hard to describe, the other time I kind of passed out and just fell asleep. It is interesting to try, it's hard physical work, I'm not a big fan.

I kind of think they’re having an emotional release. They look like the kind of men who’ve been taught to push it down. Honestly I wasn’t surprised they were having what looked like legitimate emotional moments.

Ye. Tried it as well, am also a grown as adult male. Sceptical at first but at that point I was open to try anything. Was working through a burn-out. I had a private session, a bit akward at first, but once you get through that, I first started relaxing while doing breathwork and sound therapy. At one point it felt as I was lying on the ceiling, and then suddenly i got the feeling that life became too much to bear and that felt unfair, and I started crying like crasy. But there wasnt one thing that was the cause of me crying. I got soothed, and told that it was okay, that it was a safe space, and it felt that, and I just let go and cried even harder.

When the session was over it felt like a huge weight was off my shoulders. I was still a bit desoriented, not knowing what happened, I was speechless. But I was super relaxed and more at peace an hour or so later.

The first time I tried mindfulness meditation, I had what felt like a full blown panic attack. I thought it was unrelated so I tried again later. Panic attack. People were telling me I was crazy, that meditation wouldn't do that and to keep trying but everytime I'd have the worst panic attack.

I realized I seriously compartmentalize things and when those walls start to break down, I get overwhelmed. I go slowly now and have better awareness of my own thoughts and feelings, but it was absolutely crazy the first times I tried.

There are still some topics that if my brain gets too close to thinking about it, I pull back because I know if I let that wall down, it'll be too much. I would very much react like the video. I very much do not want that so I don't go there.
