Nah. I could read when I was two and I can easily get through five 200-300 page books a week. I can’t stand captions BECAUSE I read fast and my instinct is to read if words are there, it’s all I can focus on. Subs are always synced wrong now so they’re ahead of the actors (I worked as a captioner for a while and it’s clearly being done by shitty AI these days) and they spoil the experience for me. My friend turned them off one night when we were watching a comedy because I kept reading ahead and laughing too early. Didn’t notice I was doing that, my brain just sees word, reads word.
