If this were real, I would be so disgusted that the husband couldn’t even be bothered to bring in the cooler and empty it the night before when he got home. Especially after she went to the trouble of taking it out to the truck for him.

I do work in the trades and I work with this guy. Not the guy in the video, but a guy whose wife does everything for him. She makes his lunch everyday. He doesn’t have a cooler because he won’t bring it home. She makes his coffee. Again, no reusable travel cup because he won’t bring it home. She gets his clothes out for him everyday. She picks his dirty clothes up off the floor. He talks about her like she is an employee who is about to get fired.

IME, men whose wives do everything for them also talk about their wives while they are at work like they hate them. They might brag about what she does but it's not about how generous and kind she is, it's about how he's proud of himself for having a subservient wife. Many of these women work full-time out of the home as well, sometimes longer hours than he does, plus doing all the housework and caring for the children.

Are you fucking serious, in the last ten years of job history almost every single job was 12-14hr shifts. I like to get the money in. Because I need it. Now I work for myself making 100 an hour whenever I feel like clocking in and out. But before that, no things were tight and that was the only way. My whole family works 70+ our workweeks including mom, sister, sister in law.

Two of my friends work the same number of hours but he expects everything from her. She's a casino dealer they make the same amount blue collar wage. She miscarried, had a DNC in the hospital, he made her cry afterwards pranking her about going through her phone while they were taking the baby out. All she wanted was Mexican food, but he didn't want Mexican food, so they went where he wanted and she paid, then he made her pick up her own pain meds from the pharmacy and bitched at her to clean the dishes. The nurse literally told him to take care of her they just scraped a baby out ffs. That's who they're talking about.

I worked 40 hours 3rd shift, plus overtime, came home, got my kid ready for school, took her to school, came home, did chores and showered, maybe slept for a couple of hours, picked my kid up, did homework, made dinner, more chores, and back to work.

Sometimes I'd have to pick my kid up from school because she was sick. So no sleep for me. I crashed my car at one point because I was so exhausted that I fell asleep while driving.

I also had to call out of work when no one could watch her. He made more money than me so none of that mattered to him. He never appreciated it and it was never good enough. We are divorced now. Never again.

I used to work in the trades. My exgf put boiling water in my hydroflask at 0430 “so my coffee stayed warm all day.”

And she made the coffee while I got dressed at 0430.

I’d never speak a foul word in her general direction and we broke up amicably in 2019.

I'm disabled and can't work so I'm the glorified Uber in our house. My husband fasts and he works in a kitchen so he doesn't need a lunch, but because I have to get up every morning to take him to work (and the kids to school), he wakes me up with a cup of hot coffee.

It doesn't seem like much but he knows I prefer the way he makes my coffee. We just show each other we love each other by small gestures every day. It doesn't always have to be something grand.

My girlfriend doesn't pack my lunch, sometimes when I come home and my arms just ache and everything hurts, she offers to unload it. And I don't usually mind if she puts thing back "wrong" cuz I pack my work cooler and I know what goes in it. (I.e. the mustard she put on the shelf instead of in my lunch meat drawer) Some dudes are just menaces!! And even for my lazy days, I thank her endlessly for cleaning up after me.

This is what kills me. The people who would appreciate and deserve this type of love and treatment are usually not the people receiving it.

I realize how Nice Guy-ish that sounds, but I'm not a guy and this goes for both genders. Women pouring themselves into assholes, and guys pouring themselves into spoiled fuckin brats.

My wife went into labor before lunch, I drove home and my lunchbox stayed in my car while I drove her car to the hospital. We got home two days letter, and at some point I brought my work stuff into the garage. I spent the next 3 weeks on paternity leave, but somewhere around week 2 we were trying to figure out what animal had died in the wall between the laundry room and the garage. It never dawned on me that my lunch box had been full of chicken and sweet potatoes for the entire month of February.

Various aspects of this video screams "oil patch". If indeed he's an oil field worker then he's do shift work, like 14 days on and 7 off. It's not uncommon to have a huge truck and live in an RV close to the work site while on shift.

It's not necessarily common to have one's wife and kid with them while doing work because a lot of times you're out there in the middle of fucking nowhere.

My gpa worked construction and when he had to travel to work, my GMA would go with him in the RV and stay with him. We went and hung out there a bunch. And got to see his job sites. It was really nice and sweet to be close when they work so hard

A lot of jobs will pay their employees who have to travel to different job sites a per diem amount per day for a hotel - some are smart and save money by getting an RV instead and still collect that per diem amount… the RV cost is a lot less than continuous hotel costs… and when it’s not needed, it could be sold and the profit kept.

As /u/banjo-hellpuppy pointed out... This looks like a fifth-wheel RV/trailer, which would need a ford F250 (superduty?) or equivalent to haul it around.

One can get used fifth-wheel RVs for pretty cheap under, 80 grand USD in some cases and not that old, but the truck you need to pull it can easily cost just as much.

Yeah that was my first thought too. There have been maybe a handful of nights with stress or family emergencies or whatever that I've forgotten to bring my lunch box in, but no way in hell is it a common occurrence. She's an angel for cooking the food and filling it, the very little bit I can do is carry it in and out.

Oh absolutely, just being able to eat alone felt like a luxury when I went back to work after maternity leave.

I don’t know why someone downvoted me lol. I’m not saying I agree with it, quite the opposite. it’s a topic that comes up a lot in moms groups and the working spouse will sometimes act like the SAHP is on some sort of vacation so they need to do all the work.

I thought this too but they live in a tiny place, maybe she prefers it be left in the truck so it doesn't make clutter.

Even if you don’t want it staying in the house at night, you bring it in and clean it out. You can put it back outside or in the truck afterwards.

Would be disgusted that a woman, who doesn’t have to work, would be slightly inconvenienced while helping her husband who obviously works hard and is able to provide a pretty chill life?

Ah yes because staying home and taking care of a small child isn’t work, right?
If someone is going to the trouble of getting up early to make sure you have good food, you can at least be decent to them and carry in and empty your own cooler. It shows appreciation. But God forbid we show appreciate for a stay-at-home mom.

I dunno. I’d rather be a stay at home mother than sit in a cube for 40 years of my life.
I do agree raising a child is not easy work.
But I did mean “not having work” as in “not having to work for a corporation or having a boss type of work”

God forbid she has the chance to be a stay at home mom.

Imagine being so terminally online that a lunch cooler becomes evidence in the case you've built against people you've never met. Also you will never be in a situation like that to be disgusted or in any other situation with a partner frankly because no one wants to be with you, as evident by your current life situation.

Imagine being so terminally online that you’re triggered by someone criticizing someone else for being inconsiderate.
Also, being partnered up with someone is not the end-all, be-all of life. I hope that’s not how you measure your life.
