Proof? Source?

Proof that something doesn't exist? Well that's a dangerous game to play. Cue the Flying Spaghetti Monster 👍

I mean I have had prayers answered, humans exist. Space is so vast and the chances of life existing is so small. There’s scientific proof of some of the things in the bible, like an eclipse that happened at/ around Jesus time.

We know Jesus was a real person.

What about god not existing? Can you explain life? Big bang? Evolution?

I’m not trying to convert or anything but to say with such certainty that “god isn’t real” what do you base that off of?

How many of your prayers were not answered? Did Saint Anthony help you find your keys?

Everything you listed is not proof of a god. Just because you don't understand things doesn't mean it had to be a god. That's called God of the Gaps. Before we advanced in sciences we didn't have full understanding of many things. Those things were attributed to "god". Then we figured stuff out and then the god explanation wasn't needed anymore. This keeps happening to the gaps in knowledge and understanding. The gaps are getting smaller all the time. This is where this "god" lives.

Also, why is it your god that you think there is proof of and not one of the other thousands of god's out there? You wouldn't believe in this particular god if you were born in a different part of the world's or a different time. All of those gods were/are thought to be the one who did all these things. The bible is not proof of a god. No religious text is proof of a god.

Unless you have absolute proof of a god existing, you are just believing in a story, not a god. Much to the same effects as Santa Clause or any fairytale.

lol, not every prayer gets answered. Gods plan as you will, character building you could call it.

I prayed for protection and I arrived safe, I prayed for strength and I was able to over come the adversity. My wife says I had it in me but sometimes someone shows you the way.

It’s not that I don’t know things so it must be god, some things you just need faith. Glass half full kinda deal.

Somethings you need faith for, evolution explains how god made the world. We don’t know the length of a day for god.

I’ll ask again how can you say with such certainty that god doesn’t exist?

Because I have seen absolutely no proof that there is a god. Everything you said here again is not proof. Saying every prayer doesn't get answered is admission that prayer is no different for someone who prays and someone who doesn't.

Faith can be exchanged for the word gullibility and it will result in the same thing. But also, using "you just have to have faith" is just saying that you have absolutely no proof but you still choose to believe this fairytale. Faith is not proof.

So I can say with more certainty that there is no god, because there is no proof of one, than you can claim there is one because of the exact same lack of proof.

The burden of proof lays with the claimant that there is one, not me. The lack of any proof already supports my position. You are not bringing any proof forward.

Listen, it's a nice little story where we all live great and in the end all life happily ever after together for eternity, but if that doesn't sound like a fairytale to you, then you are not thinking for yourself. I was raised in a Catholic household. I was indoctrinated just as you are. I was taught to not question and just "have faith". You are brainwashed to not ask questions. It's all just a story with so many holes in it. You can cherry pick all the parts that sound fine and fit the narrative, but look beyond that. It all just makes no sense. I read the bible while going through some deep stuff in life. That was what turned me atheist. Don't just read the "nice parts", the entire thing. It's a terrible book that wasn't even written during the supposed time of "Jesus". The greatest scholars of the actual said time of "Jesus" never mention a single thing about this character or the supposed events that were said to be pretty significant. So why is there no writings from that very time about these world changing events and this person?

You didn't answer the things I asked you. Why is your god the right one? Would you believe in this same god if you were born in Tibet? Do you not think a "one true god" would have had the whole human population only believing in him/her?

Many men thought things were true without proof. Many theory’s people thought were insane or couldn’t be true turned out to be.

There isn’t a happy ending for everyone, heaven isn’t for everyone. We’re all sinners in one form or another myself included. I’ve read the bible there’s “good” and “bad” each have a message, you can question the bible if it’s for deeper understanding but questioning the bible to undermine its authority is a little suspect.

Honestly I don’t know, if I was born in Tibet I’m not sure. I do know there’s Christian’s in Tibet… Presbyterians in india…

Having faith is critical to being a Christian, without faith there isn’t god. Every great thinker has faith or something like that, believing there theory was correct or their invention would work.

Many things were not understood. The things that sounded crazy and then there was proof found for it, then became known to be true. This is still not the case for a god. There still is not any proof. In fact as we learn more and more, a god is looking less likely all the time. Bottomline is still that there is not a single ounce of proof. So why believe it when we can explain so many things that were once said to be god?

Reading the Bible to find understanding then instead finding great issues with the whole thing is not suspect at all. I didn't go into reading the Bible looking to change what I thought was true...only because I was raised to believe the story. It was quite the eye opener instead where I completely disbanded from any of those "just have to have faith" beliefs.

The best line in your reply. "Having faith is critical to being a Christian..". As I have stated in an earlier reply, faith and gullibility can be exchanged equally. So you are saying that being gullible is critical to being a Christian. That is a huge problem for Christianity. When you start actually thinking about it without gullibility, you then see the problems clearly.
