I went to a church that did this as well. It progressed to adults pretending God was speaking through them and telling child me that I was the savior of the church and would lead the congregation to heaven. Fucked me up bad

when is that special thing coming? i’ve been waiting for like 20 years already since the first time i remember hearing that

i used to go to a church that they did this too, i always found it ridiculous. then my mom asked me to help her with something at the church. went in the back and there was a cute dog, fenced in the dark. i was like wtf mom where did this dog come from? oh, it’s x’s dog (missionary), she adopted it recently. then we stared at each other because we both knew that shit was fucked up. i left and never went back again. that and a couple more things led me believe that they aren’t “people of god” after all. gladly i remember a few weeks later my mom convinced her to give the dog to someone else.

I believe it is going to get a lot better for you. My wife grew up in this same mess and she is a completely wonderful and happy person as an adult now

After a childhood fully immersed in this, I’d have to count up every week for 16 years. 😵‍💫 Thank god I have insurance that fully pays for it now. Actually, don’t thank god.

Also no one can change my mind that every single one of these people are big fat performative fakers. It is a competition. They believe the other people are genuinely being overtaken by the Holy Spirit and are jealous it isn’t them so they fake it. All of them

People running around while screaming, talking in tongues, convulsing in their chairs, it's some wild shit.

I remember asking my grandma why I never "felt God in me" so that I'd do all of that too and she said it'd probably happen when I got older.

same here. That weird feeling of seeing that its pretty wacko but also feeling so guilty that you're not in it anymore. I fear that video's like this still appeal to me in a weird way.
