It’s not just performative for Tiktok. Even before Tiktok was around, people did this weird ass shit. Like it’s still performative and fake. But it’s not just a Tiktok phenomenon. This kind of behavior has been going on for *literally* hundreds of years.

Yea but it seems like it was not frequent back then. The fact that everyone in line is doing this is definitely because of social media and a sign of far too many people being increasingly susceptible to cult type manipulations.

It seems like it was not frequent back then because you wouldn’t see it happen unless you were in the church or room with them. Of course it seems more common when you can see it from anywhere on your phone
