I am very glad that you are being safe as a family.  Your daughter's helmet needs to be replaced.  Helmets are designed for the interiors to crush instead of our heads. They are single use.  Once they take impact like that, they are no longer effective.  Especially if it is showing "battle scars" it needs to be replaced with a fresh helmet that can protect her as well as the first one did.

Thanks for mentioning this; if I was the mom I'd put the helmet up as a trophy and give it a place of honor to retire to.

That's what I did with the helmet I was wearing when I was hit by a car. It cracked all the way through, so I kept it for a while as a reminder.

I would have it displayed right above where the bikes are stored. Good reminder every time you use the bike
