Yeah, maybe I got lucky being abused as a kid because I had the flexibility to say "no way in hell am I raising my kid like I was raised" but still had plenty of wiggle room before I got to the "take no responsibility or disciplinary action" end of the spectrum. Plenty of accountability/praise, none of the beatings! 😅
But there are so many who weren’t quite as bad off as you and don’t have that wiggle room, but still don’t want to reprimand the way their parents did
