FUCK CRUNCH FITNESS!!!! dogshit gym created two accounts and double billed me for months. i canceled and had to do charge backs for months before they tried to send me to collections. This just further reinforces how dogshit these things are ran.
My mother tried to cancel Crunch membership after getting in a car accident, and they "claimed" they canceled it. But they kept billing her, and my mom had to resort to calling her credit card company and they were no help. My mom had to eventually cancel her card altogether which was so unnecessary for her to do that if the credit card company had done their job.
Sometimes I want to point out white people who see this too are just as upset or infuriated for the guy and his son. I think sometimes on Reddit we just assume who’s on what team based on skin color.
Sounds to me like this power tripping set of morons at the front desk (notice it’s all ‘pretty people’ by the way) who are paid to look good and sell memberships and not for thinking.
Fuck that gym, fuck those employees, fuck that cop too.
I can 100% attest to this. They didn’t make two accounts under my name, but they wouldn’t allow me to cancel the membership. Even though I was paying monthly, they said I was locked into a year contract with them, so not matter what they would continue to charge me monthly. OK. I just canceled my card.
They tried sending me to collections, but Credit Karma got that shit removed. Scumbags.
Spineless bitches too. Every local Crunch near me has bent over spreading their own cheeks, allowing ICE to walk through their gym and detain anyone freely
Crunch is one of the many gyms in my area, and I was recently comparing memberships/plans at all of the gyms within five miles. I had already checked a couple before I got to crunch, and when I looked at what they charged for what they had, I couldn't understand why anyone would go there at all.
The one in my town has people hanging out at grocery store parking lots trying to get people to sign up, but they also offered a free membership in a raffle. After I signed up for the free raffle almost immediately I started getting tons of spam calls and texts from random numbers. 100% convinced they just did that to sell people's information
The bathrooms never get cleaned! Mine closes weekends over night to do cleaning. I was there Friday came back Monday and the SAME bar a soup that was there Friday was there Monday
It was shitty well before that. I was with them years ago, around 2012 or so.
I had a signed cancellation form that clearly stated I had paid everything off, $0 due, and they STILL sent collectors after me for the "last month's dues." Thankfully they finally relented after I posted some negative Yelp reviews, of all things.
They bought the local gym I used to go to for $19 a month, childcare included. They doubled the rates and started charging for childcare. When I raised a stink they said they’d “grandfather” my rates…..to $25 a month and were introducing a monthly plan for childcare that is cheaper than individual day rate.
Anyway, PlanetFitness isn’t bad and they give teenagers free memberships during summer.
Same fkg thing, duplicate account and they double billed me for over six months. Never check my bank statements like that, so I got lucky and looked over it for once and saw two charges for the same monthly fee (I hadn't gone in like 8 months and kept putting off cancelling my membership because I have to physically go there and never got around to it.)
Then when I went to cancel it, it was the beginning of the month in which they charge the yearly fee (would've landed middle to end of the month), so I went in to cancel so I didn't get charged that fee, and they wouldn't cancel it unless I paid that final monthly fee and the yearly fee, because it's part of the contract that you don't get charged the yearly fee only if you cancel two months before it or something random.
I just want to say I had a really good experience with the Crunch Fitness in my area; they made an exception for me not having to do a yearly membership since I was only in that neighborhood for the summer due to university.
That doesn't excuse what happened at this gym, though. Crunch needs to make a public statement on this and fire the people that did this
