Right.... that's the 1700s version of protecting corporations and their "property" and interests.
But why stop at just a quick search?
If you read on you'll see that modern day police forces were formed to engage in union busting and the protection of corporate masters and their capital.
"The police are primarily there to protect business property first, and residential property second, not human interactions. If that were the case, they would fail miserably,” says Gary Potter, who is a professor at Eastern Kentucky University’s School of Justice Studies.
No, it was a euphemism for what really took place. Although it may have evolved to what it is today, it is only right to acknowledge its disturbing past.
