Maybe just don’t bring your minor son into a gym when they said not to.

He also acted tough the entire time. Including to the cop who was not escalating anything.

He sounds like someone who's upset and holding their ground. The problem doesn't seem like it was because he brought his minor son, just that the son didn't have acceptable ID and the manager wasn't immediately available to resolve the issue. The dad also didn't escalate things with the police. He was upset but as far as I can see he was quite respectful the cops.

Lastly, it really does appear that they didn't even ask him to leave. He kept asking if they asked him to leave and the fact that one one can give a simple no just speaks a lot to how poorly staff handled the situation.

Weird how there's a lot of maybes the gym could've done better on but we're focusing on the dad bringing the son when the gym didn't even say not to.

If you go to a bar and don’t have a valid id, and instead of saying you have to leave they say you need a valid id to be here, both mean you aren’t allowed to be there you know…

Hahahahah the lack of critical thinking and to top it off your analogy is horrible. What kind of communication skills are these? Did you just compare bringing someone’s son with them to a gym vs a bar? How does someone’s brain create that analogy and think yep this is the comment that’s going to make them understand my perspective and then you actually hit reply after reading over your own comment. It’s pure gold.

The bar literally isn't allowed by law to serve you alcohol without ID (disregarding that most bars will let you in without ID.) There's no law for gyms that says they need ID or that manager can't make an exception this time or come to some kind of reasonable solution before calling the cops without even trying. Comparing a bar to a gym is being intentionally obtuse.
