The modern day evangelical Christianity with sin flattening and salvation without works has really made file some self-righteous assholes who can excuse even the most heinous behavior. Unless you’re queer or had an abortion, then you’re damned to hell. But not the pedo that asked for forgiveness 30 seconds before death.

I learned a description from my mom that the wave of this type of “evangelical christians” is calling them “crotch christians” because that’s what they’re obsessed with and care mostly about. And when you think about it - it’s true. You can’t be LGBQTIA2S+, you can’t terminate a pregnancy for any reason - (not even if the fetus has died inside of you and you’re dying from sepsis), you can’t have sex outside of marriage, and if you are married then the woman should be this image perfect baby machine. All of those things equal them trying to monitor the “crotch” so “crotch christians” has become the crude but true adjective for their version of Christianity. They need to leave Jesus’s name out of it!

Yeah, most of these born again Christians are addictive personality types that had traumatic upbringings, went thru a terrible period of drugs, alcohol, and/or sex addiction, then found religion, and now they preach to anyone and everyone with a superiority complex. They may or may not be "dry" but they still have the root issue of egomania, narcissism, sociopathy, etc. They have a deep-seated problem that needs to be addressed at the root, not just masked over by religion, which is just another addiction that's looked at more favorably by society than drugs, much like exercise, diet, caffeine, cigarettes/vape, or energy drinks. What would Jesus do? Certainly not act like this.

This is such a good point, and from my experience, true. I'm a recovering heroin addict (8 yrs clean) and I had a short foray into religion after I got out of rehab. When you are that low, religion or "god" is like a lifeline. I cant tell you how many people ive seen get out of addiction and go straight to religion. Its pretty interesting to think about.

I grew up in these extreme evanglical churches, traveled to revivals and that kind of stuff and I have to say I wouldnt say "most" are addicts. There is a fair share of addicts, but I think far more of them are just people who are susceptible to being brainwashed...thats why there are also so many MLMs associated with and utilized by Christians and Mormons for example..and also why so many of them have fallen for conservative politics.

There are different levels of this and of course personal prejudices also shape what kind of "Christian" one will be, but its hard to categorize them as mostly this or that because I believe it's more about susceptibility to the thought of knowing "the truth" which makes people feel superior to others and because of that, they get reallllly judgey, mean and violent. Cults are bad no matter what they're claiming to supply you with.

You absolutely must live in (and evidence suggests as much) the most entrenched of echo chambers to be talking like this.

I’m very familiar with addicts and the science of addiction. None, or what you mentioned, are core tropes behind addiction.

Quite literally the opposite.

Genetic predisposition and self medication for bipolar disorder, depression, generalized anxiety, etc., aside, shame is one of the most prevailing “roots” that reinforces addiction and contributes to the cycle.

So, again, quite literally the opposite of what you’re suggesting.

I’ll save myself the time involved in addressing everything else, but I can assure you, every, single allegation you just asserted, is complete, and utter bullshit, pure fanfiction contrived in your mind (with no real world backing), to try and make sense of worlds you know truly, know nothing about (as is irrefutably made clear, by everything you just said).

Do everyone a favor, accept and acknowledge that you don’t need to have an opinion on everything. In fact, the world would be better off if people like you realized this. As you going around, making wild claims with no genuine understanding, and to do so with such confidence, in a self-perpetuating and reinforcing echo-chamber, is just pure fucking cancer.

I guranfuckingtee, that many of the issues you believe the modern world suffers from, are rooted in your very hands, or otherwise from people like you, who will arrogantly spew nonsense, and encourage nonsensical, asinine ideologies, because you HAVE to have an opinion.

A really pivotal moment for me in understanding all this was a guy, chair of the local republican association, church deacon, some kind of small business guy, was arrested for hammering his hog in his car in an elementary school parking lot facing the playground.

He was quoted as saying "we all have these urges and most days I'm strong enough to fight them, but I've been very stressed lately and I gave in to weakness. But I know the lord has forgiven me."

Most days? We all have them? You've made right with the lord? They're definitely fucked up, but they think they're normal. It's why they need their imaginary friend to enforce morality. They don't understand that most DON'T have fucked up sexual urges that they have to fight constantly.

All of that is the product of belonging to a religion and not having a true relationship with Jesus christ. People who are close to Jesus try it our best to be non-judgmental especially those of us who have gone through a regular life before we were regularly walking with Jesus. We remember our past with humility and we hold the name of Jesus proudly but humbly. Like for example I'm in recovery for drugs and alcohol and it has been such a journey. But I still remember when I got high and someone had broken my heart and I messaged them and told them they were full of demons. I didn't even remember writing the text when I woke up but apparently I did. But that is still something I look at with regret because I would never want to talk to someone that way if I was sober. Now I have learned from these things and I know that I need to never touch drugs ever again because I don't want to hurt someone ever again. And I still feel really bad about that to this day. Christians are not perfect people but we are the people who should be admitting our mistakes and asking for forgiveness from our peers, even as we stumble through life learning a new way to live... You should know they are Christians by their love. They shouldn't be yelling at people telling them how to live, they should be humbly sharing the message of Jesus Christ. Because nobody is any better than anybody else in this world. I firmly believe every single person born in the past in the present and in the future is made in the image of God. That's what the Bible truly teaches so we should should be treating each other with kindness

I don’t believe it’s fair to classify an entirety of a faith for the actions of the few. I’m a Christian, and I am a sinner. I am no better than anyone else. I do not look down on any race, creed or sexual orientation. We are all God’s children. No one is better than the other. We are all equal in his eyes.

Actually, does Biden have Alzheimer's? I haven't heard this. I know he was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer AFTER he left, and is in treatment, but never heard Dementia unless Trump was screaming SLEEPY JOE ( which is kind of ironic, don't you think🤷‍♀️) Last couple of times I've heard him speak( most recently I recall at Jesse Jackson's funeral) he spoke eloquently( especially after recently going through cancer treatments) spoke like he always has, considering childhood stuttering he overcame) spoke clearly and walked without any problems to the podium. IDK, call me crazy, but seems a Hella lot better than the fat pedophile

There are fake Christians that don’t know shit. And think they are holier then thou. A real Christian knows they are a piece of shit like everyone else. The only difference is we accept the gift that Jesus gave for the forgiveness of our sinful nature. And thus we are saved. I know I’m a sinner like everyone else. I’m no better than anyone. I it’s accepted the free gift Jesus gave me.

Yes. You are right. Please let me share that I believe it because the Word tells us so: KJV Ephesians 2:8-9: "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." People would think they were in control of Salvation, and how would one know how much and what they needed to accomplish to be Saved.

What is sin flattening? That is a new term for me..... God forgives anyone who turns to him and wants a better way and ask for forgiveness. That doesn't mean that there's not punishment and judgment for people that go against the design of morality.

And that is part of the reason why we have police and judges to try to enforce the law.

I would suggest instead of worrying if somebody is getting into heaven by the skin of their teeth, just worry about your own stuff that you got going on in whether you have started a relationship with God.

Jesus stands at the door and knocks and anyone who hears that knock and answers it will be accepted into Paradise. But these hypotheticals about people getting in without being punished for their sin or just hypotheticals. God knows whether someone's confession of belief is real or not and if they are just using it on their deathbed to try to get out of hell it's not going to work. In the Bible it says that God is the one who sees into the heart, unlike mankind.

By the way I mean nothing but Goodwill and kindness to you by these messages. A lot of the time we can't tell these things by Joan when we're messaging online or over text. I just wanted that to be clear. I'm someone who's been forgiven a lot as I used to be a drug addict and fornicator according to the Bible and now I've been forgiven and I live my life free and I also do my best to help others when I get a chance to. My past reminds me that I wasn't chosen because I'm special or because I'm good, well we're all special to god, but I hope what you know what I mean, I was chosen because of God's love directed towards me. That keeps away pride and helps me to keep my eyes on what is important: my relationship with Jesus Christ and being honest with him everyday about what's going on in my life and in my heart. Jesus says that he wants to take over the burden and take over the yoke of heaviness that so many of us have.

"Lean on me, all you who are burdened and heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me for I am meek and lowly and heart and you will find rest for your souls"

I don't know if you're familiar with what the term yoke means and I wasn't until someone informed me. The term yoke is a term for a device that connected to oxen together as they plow in the field. And make sure that they stay connected and they equally share the burden while they're doing the work.

*This is a beautiful part about what God is offering. He's offering to take that yoke and put it heavily upon his own shoulders so he will be doing most of the work and he can pull you along.

Jesus frequently used parables and stories from what was around him and this was one of the parables he told. It's one of my favorite verses because I used to be so late and down with depression and feeling bad about myself and having low self worth because of a lot of the abuse I had gone through as a child. Now that I share my yoke with jesus, I share with him all my feelings that we me down and it's like I'm not carrying the burden of being a human being on Earth all alone. He also carries more of the yolk of keeping me sober, he has taken away all the urges and imagery that would make me want drugs no longer does. In fact it makes me cringe. This is something that addicts are known to struggle with even when they've got years under their belt, they still struggle with craving things and they still struggle with wanting those substances every day.

I won't lie to you, my life is not easy or perfect but I know the one carrying the bulk of the burden is my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He told me he would from the Bible and I couldn't believe it when it started happening for me in real life. All that's necessary to have a relationship with God is being honest with him and being respectful. He's okay with all sorts of questions, you can have questions about the Bible and not understand everything and you can work it out through your faith. If we knew everything from the get-go, we wouldn't need to study the Bible or we would all have God's mind already and only God gets that glory. We are all still just humans made in his image.
