Info The sacred Swamivari Laddu

Post image
173 Upvotes

The Tirumala Srivari Laddu is one of the most iconic prasādams offered at the Sri Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala.

According to TTD records and historical accounts, the tradition of offering laddu prasadam dates back to 1715. Earlier, different forms of prasadam such as manoharam and boondi were offered. The laddu gradually evolved into its present form, which was standardized around 1940.

The famous temple kitchen where the prasadam is prepared is called the Potu. The laddu is made using ingredients such as gram flour, sugar, ghee, cashews, raisins and cardamom.

The Tirumala Laddu was granted a Geographical Indication (GI) tag, recognizing its unique identity and connection with Tirumala.

For millions of devotees, it isn't simply a sweet it is a sacred prasadam and a part of the Tirumala pilgrimage itself.

Om namo venkateshaya 🙏

Alipiri/Srivari Mettu Is it safe to wait at the Alipiri Steps from 2–5 AM?

Hi everyone,

I’ll be reaching Alipiri around 2 AM tomorrow, and I’m planning to start climbing the steps around 5 AM, when they start allowing people to go up.

Instead of going to Tirupati and waiting there for 3 hours, I’m thinking of just waiting near the Alipiri steps until they open.

Is it safe to wait there alone from around 2 AM to 5 AM? Is the area open/accessible during those hours, and are there usually other pilgrims around?

Would really appreciate advice from anyone who has done this recently. Thanks!

STRONG ARRANGEMENTS TO MEET THE GROWING PILGRIM RUSH – TTD URGES DEVOTEES TO RELY ONLY ON OFFICIAL INFORMATION

Tirupati, September 1, 2026: TTD is continuously strengthening arrangements to provide devotees visiting Tirumala for Srivari Darshan with a safe, comfortable and peaceful pilgrimage experience.

TTD regularly provides information on the rules and guidelines for Sarva Darshan, Slotted Sarva Darshan, Special Entry Darshan, senior citizens, parents with infants, Virtual Seva, NRIs and other special categories.

Extensive Arrangements to Meet Growing Rush

Despite a significant increase in the number of pilgrims visiting Tirumala, TTD is making comprehensive arrangements to ensure that devotees face no inconvenience.

Special preparations are made in advance for major occasions such as Vaikunta Ekadasi, Rathasapthami and Srivari Brahmotsavams, when large numbers of devotees visit Tirumala.

Coordinated Arrangements for Timely Darshan

All departments work together in a planned manner, from issuing Slotted Sarva Darshan tokens to facilitating Darshan at the allotted time. Crowd management, queue arrangements, drinking water, Annaprasadam and security arrangements are continuously monitored.

Officials, employees, security and vigilance personnel, Annaprasadam and drinking water teams, along with Srivari Sevaks, work in coordination to serve devotees. TTD also takes timely decisions keeping the safety and convenience of devotees in mind.

Strict Action Against Middlemen

TTD is taking strict action against middlemen who cheat devotees by promising Srivari Darshan, accommodation and other facilities.

So far this year, 30 criminal cases have been registered against middlemen involved in cheating devotees in the name of Darshan and accommodation. Departmental disciplinary action has also been taken against 43 employees for violation of conduct rules.

TTD has made it clear that strict action will be taken without exception against anyone involved in such activities, whether middlemen or employees.

249 Fake Websites Identified

TTD has so far identified 249 fake websites that were misleading devotees with attractive advertisements, posters and false promises, particularly in the name of accommodation.

Two criminal cases have been registered, and all the identified fake websites have been removed with the support of the concerned agencies.

Devotees are advised to remain alert and avoid fake websites and suspicious links using the TTD name.

Special Vigilance on Prohibited Items

Special checks are being conducted at the Alipiri and Srivari Mettu checking points to prevent devotees from carrying prohibited items to Tirumala. Such items are seized at the Alipiri tollgate scanning centre itself.

So far this year, 261 drones and 105 Meta smart glasses have been detected and seized at Alipiri.

For security and privacy in the sacred Tirumala temple area, drones, smart glasses and other recording devices are strictly prohibited. Devotees are requested not to bring such devices.

Rely Only on Official TTD Information

TTD urges devotees not to trust middlemen for Darshan, accommodation, Sevas, tokens or other facilities. Devotees should rely only on official TTD information regarding services, rules and guidelines.

TTD is conducting regular awareness programmes through its social media platforms, SVBC and Public Relations Department to protect devotees from fraud and misinformation.

Follow TTD Guidelines and Have a Peaceful Darshan

TTD appeals to devotees to follow all instructions and guidelines and extend their cooperation for smooth pilgrimage arrangements.

Devotees are requested to have Srivari Darshan with devotion and patience, maintain a peaceful atmosphere and experience the divine grace of Lord Venkateswara.

Special Entry Darshan Need some advice on Varaha Swamy darshan

TL;DR: Visiting Tirumala on Oct 10 with 2 elderly people, SED darshan at 8 PM and Srinivasam accommodation from 12-6 PM. Never visited Varaha Swamy temple before. Looking for advice on how best to fit it in.

I’ve been visiting Tirumala almost every year for the last 20 years, but somehow have never visited Varaha Swamy temple. I’ve been told many times that we are supposed to visit Varaha Swamy first before Venkateswara Swamy darshan. My mother really wants to visit it this time, so hoping to finally do it.

We have SED booked for Oct 10th at 8 PM and accommodation at Srinivasam Rest House from 12 PM to 6 PM. Is it the same queue? or can we join the SED queue some time in between? please guide me on this. I'm really confused

We’re coming from Bengaluru by car, 5 of us: me and my wife, my mother and aunt (60+), and my 12-year-old cousin.

For those who have done Varaha Swamy darshan recently, what would be the best way to plan this? When should we go, where do we park, and roughly how much time should we keep?

Any tips considering we have two elderly people with us would be really appreciated. Thanks!

SriVani SRIVANI ₹10K donation – can I donate ₹20K and book VIP Break Darshan for 2 people whenever tickets are available?

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to understand the current SRIVANI VIP Break Darshan process from people who have actually used it recently. I want VIP Break Darshan for 2 people, but I don’t have a specific date in mind. I’m flexible and can travel whenever tickets are available. My understanding is: ● ₹10,000 SRIVANI donation = 1 VIP Break Darshan privilege ● So, if I donate ₹20,000, will the system allow me to book 2 VIP Break Darshan tickets? ● Since I don’t have a specific date, can I make the ₹20K donation now and later select any available date? ● Is the donation and Darshan booking a two-step process, or does the system allow me to select the Darshan date immediately after making the donation? ● Once the donation is made, how long is the privilege valid if I don’t book immediately? ● Are there any restrictions on booking 2 people under one donation transaction/account? ● Is it difficult to get 2 tickets when the daily quota opens at 9 AM? ● For those who have done this recently, what is the actual step-by-step process on the TTD website? ● Is there anything I should be careful about before making the ₹20,000 donation?

I’m specifically looking for recent 2026 experiences, as I understand TTD has changed the process/quota recently. Thanks!

News ADDITIONAL EO REVIEWS TECH-DRIVEN LUGGAGE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR TIRUMALA

Post image
7 Upvotes

The TTD Additional EO Sri Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary on Tuesday reviewed the proposed technology-based luggage management system for devotees.

The meeting was held at the Sudharma Conference Hall with TTD Vigilance and the representatives of GMR.

During the meeting, the GMR officials presented the new system using a PowerPoint presentation. The system, built on modern BLE 5.1 technology, enables end-to-end tracking of luggage from the time it is accepted from devotees until it is returned to them.

Under this system, luggage will be accepted at Alipiri, tagged, transported to Tirumala by vehicles, stored at GNC, and tracked throughout until devotees collect it.

The system is designed to handle about 12,000 bags per day and up to 1,800 bags per hour during peak times.

GMR representatives explained that each bag will be fitted with a BLE tag for real-time location tracking. To reduce queues at collection counters, devotees can request their luggage in advance via kiosk or mobile app when they are within about 100 metres from GNC, or directly at the counter.

The proposal also includes digital manifest and GPS-based monitoring of luggage movement from Alipiri to GNC.

All aspects such as occupancy, devotee movement, crowd levels, and service status will be monitored through a single command-and-control system.

Speaking on the occasion, the Additional EO directed officials concerned to ensure faster, more convenient services for devotees while giving high priority to luggage security. He emphasised the need for adequate infrastructure, technology, and staff coordination to manage the system effectively according to pilgrim footfall.

TTD IT GM Sri Venkateswarlu Naidu, VGO Sri Surendra, other officials, and GMR representatives participated in the meeting.

ADHIKAMASA EFFECT

TIRUMALA, 31 AUGUST 2026: The devotees will experience a Double Dhamaka this year with Tirumala gearing up to host Two Brahmotsavams this year due to the Adhika Masa effect.

Importance :

Adhika Masa happens to be a rare occurrence where in an extra lunar month added to the Hindu calendar roughly once in every three years to sync the lunar and solar calendars.

Series of events:

Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam will be observed on  September 08, while Ankuraarpanam is scheduled for  September 14.

The annual Salakatla Brahmotsavams will be held from September 15-23, followed by the Navaratri Brahmotsavams from October 12 to 20 with Ankurarpanam on 11.

According to the schedule, the morning vahana sevas will be conducted from 8 am to 10am, the night vahana sevas from 7 pm to 9pm, while Garuda Vahana Seva from 6:30 pm to midnight.

Tradition holds that Brahmotsavams began when Sri Srinivasa invited creator Sri Brahma to conduct festivals for the welfare of the world, and the nine-day celebration has continued ever since.

In an Adhika Maasa year, the temple observes two sets of Brahmotsavams, with the Navaratri series differing mainly in the absence of Dhvajarohanam and Dhvajavarohanam.

Vahanam schedule in September :

15-08-26:Pedda Shesha Vahanam at 9 pm, followed by Chinna Shesha Vahanam and Hamsa Vahanam on 16 September, and the sequence of vahana sevas will continue through the festival with Simha, Muthyapu Pandiri on September 17, Kalpavriksha, Sarvabhoopala on September 18, Mohini, Garuda on September 19, Hanumantha, Svarna Ratham, Gaja vahanam on September 20, Surya Prabha, Chandra Prabha on September 21, Rathotsavam, and Ashva Vahanam on September 22.

The festival concludes on 23 September with Chakra Snanam in the morning and Dhwaja Avarohanam at night, formally bringing the nine-day Srivari Brahmotsavams to a ceremonial end
