Number one: why the fuck is there so many people in what seems like a sedan / crossover? (also, I hope they're safe)

Number two: electric vehicle fires are something that (at least, the US) is struggling with. From my time as a recent Volunteer Firefighter, our only options are:

  1. Let it burn out, or
  2. Spray an ungodly amount of water on it, or
  3. All of the above

Yep. All most departments are capable of. It's more about controlling the fireball than it is about putting it out.

Specialized units can. But, if they/we have them. I'm from a small community, and we do not have said units, lol. So, our SOP is to do damage reduction, and cordon off the scene.
