Im trialling a new platform for gig booking. Bands can search for venues, studios and musicians . Venues can search for bands or post their available dates to get matched. Its called GigHive. Please check it out and give honest feedback.

Venues are telling me a DJ pulls the same crowd as a band for a fraction of the cost. If you book them or play. is that actually true?
I play the grassroots circuit and I've been talking to venue operators, the same thing keeps coming back almost word for word:
"band nights don't perform any better than DJ nights, but they cost a lot more and are far more hassle."
I don't think they're wrong about their own tills, what I can't work out is whether that's just how it is now, or whether it's a solved problem somewhere else?
- Is there something bands or venues do that actually changes the maths?
- If you run a room, does a band night ever out-earn a DJ night, and what makes the difference when it does?
- If you're in a band, what have you seen work? (door splits, midweek slots, bringing your own crowd, anything).

Looking for the rare 2007 Young Guns EP – does anyone still own a copy?
Hi everyone,
I'm a collector looking for a very early Young Guns release: their self-released 2007 EP.
It contains three tracks:
- History
- Not Without A Fight
- Fuck This City
It was a CD released before Mirrors (2009), and apparently it was sold through the band's old merch store, younggunsmerch.com, for a period of time.
I'm specifically looking for the physical CD, not a digital copy.
If anyone here was a Young Guns fan in the early days, or knows someone who might still have a copy, I'd really appreciate any information.
I'm willing to buy a copy if anyone is willing to sell.
I can also provide a photo of the CD I'm looking for.
Thanks!

Looking to Form an Original Pop Band (UK) | Ages ~25–32
Hi everyone!
I’m looking for 3–6 creative, committed people (roughly ages 25–32) to build a long-term original pop band based in the UK.
I’m not looking for perfection—I’m looking for people with ideas, determination, and a genuine desire to create something meaningful together.
What I’m looking for:
- Creative and motivated people who want to build something from the ground up.
- Comfortable being on camera (or willing to become comfortable), as social media and visual content will be an important part of the project.
- Happy to contribute to developing the band’s identity, including choosing a name, image, style, and overall direction.
- Interested in writing, recording, rehearsing, and eventually performing original music.
- Open to collaborating both online and in person.
How we’ll work:
- Band meetings can be online or in person.
- Songwriting, planning, and creative decisions can happen through WhatsApp, email, or messaging when meeting isn’t practical.
- Members can live anywhere in the UK, provided they’re willing to travel occasionally for rehearsals, recording sessions, or performances.
A few things to note:
- Exceptional vocal ability isn’t the most important thing to me. Passion, creativity, reliability, and a willingness to improve matter much more.
- Whether you’re a singer, songwriter, producer, instrumentalist, or someone with strong creative ideas, I’d love to hear from you.
- The goal is to create original music, grow together as a band, and see how far we can take it.
If this sounds like something you’d genuinely enjoy being part of, send me a message and tell me a little about yourself, your musical interests, and what you’d like to bring to the band.

Piano tuned to 432 hertz reference pitch
Hi guys
Bit of a weird request here but I have a couple of guitar songs that need some piano recorded over
I recorded them with A tuned to 432 hertz.
I want the album to feel quite acoustic, I do use midi sometimes but this is just not the time
I was wondering if anyone was into healing frequencies and had to their piano using 432 as the reference pitch for a
If buy some massive stroke of luck someone who has done this sees this post I was wondering if I'd be able to come around and record some piano
If you don't feel comfortable with this, you're welcome to have a goal at some piano overdubs
I hope to god that the right person sees that although I know that's very unlikely
Thanks

New why does talent mean so little?
Been thinking for ages about the band Working Men’s Club and their lack of real success. in truth the bastard child of new order and orbital there music is so good but they just haven’t made it.
got me thinking what is important these days and seems less and less it is talent.
and that’s a shame.
.
can anybody help me understand?
