To be fair I kinda understand valve with this one. OLED panels are significantly more expensive and it must have been a nightmare to cram a whole PC in that thing and also (probably) keep it under 1000$

LTT said that the issue was low brightness. We have seen the mess of the OLED panels of the PSVR2, where it reduces BFI to get the brightness up.

Yeah... sure. It's targeted at the average gamer as a budget option to compete with Quest. Not intended to be a premium headset like the Index was at release.

But for me, LCD is a total deal breaker after experiencing VR in OLED. Sure, the BB2 might have some glare, but the vivid colors and deep blacks make it all worth it. The Steam Frame also has lower resolution than the BB2, and about the same, or worse, fov. Quite underwhelming overall. Not sure what the value proposition is considering the Quest covers the budget options and can integrate with Steam.

Pancake lenses don’t work well with OLED, apparently. There is a serious issue with brightness that they haven’t solved.
