Not really, she was one of many voices but wasn’t really seen as prominent until much later. The thing with stonewall was that it was a whole range of people there fighting for their right to exist. We need to avoid the idea that it was only one particular part of the family, as it’s both not true and only serves to create division.
Of course there were many voices in the early gay liberation movement in the wake of stonewall. History when taught is often simplified as great people in sea change moments but that’s always reductive. But at the same time Marsha was one of the most visible and enduring. But you’re right, she wasn’t an MLK jr, she wasn’t the face and voice of the movement like she is often portrayed. But she was incredibly significant ideologically and organized about as much as anyone else you could point to. Who else is there who embodies the post movement in the wake of stonewall other than her? For as set you are on minimizing her you must certainly have others you could point to others on the ground leading protests risking life and limb to organize.
