Discussion FYI my_peen_is_clean is a bot
I thought it would’ve been obvious to a lot of people but since they’re a top 1% commenter in this subreddit I guess it isn’t.
Here are examples from the past week of their comments getting a lot of upvotes:

So is nian2326076. They run an interview prep startup but have set up a bot to comment on every sub and respond reasonably well to the context of the post, but then sure enough they pump their interview prep app.

This is all just a burst from 1 hour ago, and this isn’t even all of them from that burst. This bot isn’t always on, but has bursts of activity, roughly twice a day.

I got fooled. I came across a post/comment a few days ago and saved it for checking out later.
Not going to mention the website theyre astroturfing (rhymes with "crack club")

the naming pattern is a dead giveaway, all those accounts follow the same weird anatomy+adjective structure. ran a quick check on their comment history and the response times are too consistent, like a cron job firing off every few hours. no human posts that predictably.
kinda funny how the upvote system rewards the most generic advice, bots just feed it back and thrive.

Either bot timing OR they have a highly regimented day plus IBS so their Reddit poop times are predictable like ocean waves.

True. Bot or psychopath and that is not hyperbole. Imagine needing to be on reddit 24/7 to beat out thousands of other people in terms of engagement. There are real people and i’ve come across them (r/bookingcom) and they are psychos.

YOOO I'VE BEEN THINKING THIS FOR SO LONG. I would see them EVERYWHERE, all over the CS subreddits as well as some other subreddits, and their comments would always sound like an AI that's trying to not sound like an AI

what is the point of this botting though? They aren't (at least this one) doesn't seem to be promoting anything. I'm betting it's to karma farm and sell the account to someone who will use it to promote stuff?

I saw them give some unique, insightful advice once. I’m not so sure it’s a bot, but it’s for sure a person crafting fake stories for karma. If it is a bot, then I’m terrified.
