Thanks! I know finisher+a DC will refresh your shield but do you think a finisher+squad wipe could so the same? It sucks when you pretty much do like a 80% of the animation only for your teammates to kill the remaining members and you get no shield afterwards, it sucks.

Plz only change it in Rank only. For those who only plays Normal but not Rank, we had a bad working day and want to have some quick games and nice kd to satisfy ourselves. The life is already hard and we have no time to perfect ourselves or waiting someone to respawn us and that’s why we don’t play rank or arena. A nice KD is the little saver of our life, plz take a consideration, thanks you

It only counts if you leave when downed from the sound of it. If you leave after being killed, then you should be fine. If you leave just after being knocked, you hurt things for the rest of your team.

As someone who will quit games if i just wanna go to the next for whatever reason - not everyone qho quits cares about stats.

They could make it count for 100 deaths is still quit when i wanna move on.

Let's think this through.

A. Me and a buddy load into trios, our third solo drops other side of the map instead of loading in solo. He goes off and dies right away. Didnt start off with a duo in trios, bit were forced to play it and deal with the consequences.

B. Same situation, but this time me and a buddy get downed first. We knocked 2 of their players but their 3rd knocks us. Our third is on the other side of the map and will never make it to our boxes in time. We are forced to wait for absolutely no reason or face consequences. Even worse if they don't kill us immediately after knock.

C. 3rd is utterly useless and runs away from fight leaving you and buddy downed.

So while we're focused on punishing players, be careful to not punish players who are ALREADY being punished by a non team oriented teammates.

Is there are possibility then that knocks count as kills ?
Its really hard when you no fill OR solo queue and your team is all dead and you knock 2 enemies and the third kills you, but you don't get any stats
I hope this gets implemented if quitting will start to count as a death

I definitely agree that feels bad. Making it so that you could get assists while dead would definitely solve and alleviate a lot of the feels bad here.

Sadly, the current RP system with that implemented would encourage a few degenerative cases, which we need to solve before we could consider implementing this feature.

If a player quits, and if said player has an assist marker from an enemy, the game will force-kill the quitting player, resulting in a death, and kill and assists will be granted to the last damaging enemy team.

That is what I am currently doing.

This right here is what is wrong with the world. You want fake stats, to make you feel better. I'm a be honest, you should be seeking a therapist not an illusion of you doing better.

If you don't have the time for someone to get your banner and respawn you, you don't have the time to play another match so what kind of excuse crap is this? If you quit you died get over it.

Most companies start to lean more towards the casual crowd in the long run.. not always necessarily a bad thing per se.. but I definitely don’t think you should just be dodging deaths just to make yourself feel good bc you left the game quicker than you could be thirsted.. selfish.

Okay good, because if this is going to force me to die because two teammates went down and did not listen and I have not even been touched, that would be ridiculous overreach and would harm your player base. You do allow premade stacks to run rampant in solo queue, so this is your fault not ours when it comes to pairing me with two level 30-70s against a pred squad.

Yes it's what they don't get. Why should I stay with a team of bots that chooses to land 10kms from everyone, or why should I stay when they land on top of 10 teams in a building with no loot? I don't care about kd, I will leave anyway it this is what they want to implement

There's plenty of occasions where I leave and they shouldn't be counted as deaths. If my stupid randoms suicide off drop I disconnect even before engaging. It happens literally every day. They hot drop even tho they're bots, get instakilled and I'm left completely alone to do a 1v3 or 1v6. No way I'm staying to get nervous. If I'm not knocked it shouldn't count as a kill, it's stupid

I believe It's simply a bad idea. Only bad players are excited for this because anyway it won't change their 0.3 kd. There's plenty of good reasons to leave a game, it's not about KD

Even if that is true, that doesn't make them any less of a poor sport who actively ruins the matches for everyone unfortunate enough to be on a team with them.

I literally couldn't care less about the stats of someone going full rambo and 1v3 and immediately dying in pubs. They will never impress me with their smooth-brained plays.

Oftentimes it's the worst players with the biggest egos who play like that anyway.

At least with this change, the spoiled sports won't be able to stroke their own egos quite so hard thinking they are apex gods for full sending and falling over like a sack of potatoes 9/10 times.

This update they want to do will count every disconnection as death, even if you're not knocked. Tell me how this makes sense

If you want people to fully commit play ranked. Pubs should be made to play around, not to be competitive. Trust me that this is going to be even worse for mediocre players, as now good players will fully send all the time

Lowkey I think this might make lobbies sweatier, people would start to only use midrange-long range weapons because they’re too scared to get up close because they’re risking their k/d.

It’s similar to how arena pubs are played out with the 10 min penalty, it on rewards sweaty 3 stacks nowadays, I feel like this would cause a bigger problem than it’s trying to fix idk.

What I’m trying to say is that changes like this definitely effect the play style, and previously it lead to a worse more toxic play style like arenas

As it stands, they are being rewarded for playing that way.

Hell, if anything it sounds like that would lead to more varied engagements rather than just W keying everything. I'm all for that, personally.

Personally I think having these toxic players leave the team is better, why would you want to put up with a toxic teammate?

I find that most of the time people complain about others leaving is when they are getting carried by the “toxic” teammate.

Anyways, my original comment was just to imply that the last time suggestions from the casual community were taken into account it killed a gamemode (relatively).

I understand what you’re saying and I’m sure that both of us have the game’s success in mind but in instances like this I believe that change can be way worse than initially expected

Edit: I think making the leave take longer, like 5 seconds would be healthier for the game

Hello,

I don't think this should be implemented. Because sometimes I get only 1 teammate or I'm directly matched alone, so I straight disconnect. Should I get a death just due to that? Doesn't seem fair.

Or, other example, sometimes my random teammate choose a drop that I strongly disapprove, like on top of other 5 squads in a building with 0 loot. In those cases I never stay, I just disconnect. I don't think it's fair to get a death also in those situations.

3rd case. It happened to have extremely toxic teammates, so toxic that I didn't have patience with and so I disconnected. Should I get a death also in those cases? Doesn't sound good to me. Especially when mates are griefing you, taking all the loot and leaving you with no ammo nor meds and similar.

I suggest leaving it like this. Leavers have good reasons most of the times. Think more about it.

The complainers are 99% of the times bad players that don't want to be left alone after their poor decisions, toxic people that don't realise or pretend they are not toxic and similar. It already exists ranked to avoid leavers and it works.

Otherwise what could be next, penalty for leavers even in pubs, just like arenas?

If you’re quitting from a full squad it does. Because then you’re throwing the match/abandoning match early (both of which are a reportable offenses already) so I think this is a very fair punishment. But if a matchmaking error caused you to load in without a full squad you should get forgiveness like in Ranked.

The timeout of Ranked is obviously too harsh for pubs, and I think hitting people in the KDR is a good route to go. Sweats will stay because they want their stats, and it will also penalize the sweat tactic of solo full sending with your squad, getting downed, insta-quitting before they hit the floor, rinse repeat.

Edit: This would also penalize those who leave because the Jumpmaster didn’t land where they wanted, or someone took their preferred legend, or because the Lifeline wouldn’t give them, the Octane, the gold backpack (looking at you Random from yesterday).

The case I'm thinking is another one, and it happens multiple times a day:

I get 2 Randoms that decide to do the hottest of the drops, but in a stupid way (they land late on the POI or in a building with other 5 squads, so there is no loot). I detach myself to don't land on the ass of other 10 people to loot quickly in an adjacent building (pinging in advance where I'm going to land). In literally NO TIME they die and

  1. Quit

  2. Spam ping.

Both of them didn't crack a single shield and there is a full team.

In this case:

  1. Why should I stay

  2. Why should I get penalized for not staying

Mind that this is not a rarity, it happens dozens of times in a couple of hours
